My family is dealing with this firm for an estate settlement. My aunt died in May. She signed over control of her estate to an Edward Jones rep who sweet-talked her (she was 80 and bipolar and I'm sure this guy made her feel like he was her boyfriend). My sister is power of attorney. My aunt divided her estate up in nine equal portions. My sister has run into road block after road block. The EJ guy that was very helpful all of sudden was no longer with EJ. We now have some woman who says a payment due in October is being held up because not all beneficiaries have returned the required papers. I submitted two batches of papers--notarized--that they sent. They do not tell my sister who hasn't sent in the required paperwork and said they could not make a payment until all beneficiaries had done so. The auctioneer who I know that we hired to sell the estate--as EJ requested--was hung up on when he attempted to fined the land assessment value. Said he never had been treated like that. Now they said the real estate sale check was made out to the wrong account ... after the fact.
I honestly don't need the money, but I have a strong suspicion these people are milking the account, which would piss me off. \
Anybody out there had any dealings with this firm? Is this typical for an estate settlement? I feel like going on Facebook and every other media I can to warn people about dealing with Edward Jones.
