What's Your Opinion On Legalized Medical Marijuana?

Medical marijuana is back on the ballot in Florida after failing last time.

I'm confused as to how anyone could vote against something that can help relieve a person suffering from a horrible disease and/or dying.

I know some opinions differ, so curious what yours might be even if it's the opposite of my own...

There should be no law preventing people from consuming any drug for almost any reason. That should include crack, heroin, meth, marijuana, soda, cooking oil, alcohol and anything else. No person has the right to tell me to not do things unless those things infringe on someone else's rights.

So not just yes to medical marijuana but yes to marijuana, period. And while every statistical analysis you could want to do on the negative effects marijuana has on life, relationships, education, crime, career, abortion etc. etc. will show that it is a horrible decision to make for a high % of the population, people should be free to fuck up their own lives and we should only get involved when they are infringing on our rights.

Medical marijuana serves no purpose at all, except to benefit doctors and drug companies.

I'm sure yoga can help with certain health problems, you don't have to pay a doctor $100 every year just to give you a card that says you're allowed to take yoga classes.

so much misinformation, how's a citizen suppose to draw an informed decision ? Especially when govt agencies are only partially aboard. Money drives the train. Once all the powers that be get their share of said monies, then they may call it a 'medicinal herb'

firstly, there's a negative stigma to it. One has been conditioned to believe its harmful, its bad. Also, its main delivery source is inhalational ; smoking is contrary to all health messages over the last 60 yrs.

govt? the US govt has it as a Schedule 1 drug- meaning it has high abuse potential and NO medical use. .......good grief, how do you expect to convince the masses if their own govt says its dangerous and has no good use?

The data is proving US govt the fool, tho. HOWEVER, until govt is assured a piece of the pie it shall stand its ground?

ya see the FDA says UNPROCESSED Cannabis is unapproved. BUT, chemical compounds found IN THE PLANT, such as CBD and THC are approved in a SYNTHETIC FORM (dronabinol,nabilone).

Ya see, don't say the plant is helpful as a medicine , but approve its chemical products in a pill form......:missingte

not easy to research the plant , cause of the stigma and Schedule 1 label .

I'm totally against medical weed - it's just another scam so someone can make a killing on he rx and the state can charge for a card - just make it legal for anyone - there will be no difference

they are for it, if they can profit from it. And two pharmaceutical companies are;

Valeant pharmaceutical makes nabilone, a synthetic version(man made) of THC (found in the plant). It's used for the management of neuropathic pain and as an antiemetic

Solvay pharmaceutical makes dronabinol , another synthetic version of THC used for the treatment of severe nausea/vomiting and loss of apetite.

there is clear medical use for it, but US govt still has it listed as a Schedule 1 drug.

Legal here in Oregon ^!:

I'm not a pothead but like a toke now and then and have bought from legal stores since day it became legal as do my friends. Government has shown they can't stop it so why not take the criminal element out of it.
