Boxing promoter Bob Arum said WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao will fight again in the spring and adds the chances of a rematch with Floyd Mayweather are at "75 percent."

Pacquiao (59–6–2, 38 KOs) beat Jessie Vargas by unanimous decision on Saturday night Las Vegas to regain the welterweight belt. He came out of retirement after being elected to the Senate of the Philippines in May, citing being a politician was not enough to make a living.

"Like everyone else, I'm guessing there will be a rematch." Arum told ESPN.com. "I give it 75 percent. Do I know it's gonna happen? No. Do I know if Floyd wants the fight? No. I know nothing more than the public knows at this point and what I observed."

Pacquaio lost to Mayweather by unanimous decision in May 2015. The fight shattered the pay-per-view record with 4.4 million buys, which generated more than $400 million in revenue. The almost 17,000 spectators at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas paid almost $72 million to see the fight.

Pacquiao made approximately $150 million and Mayweather took home $250 million for that fight.

Mayweather (49–0, 26 KOs) has not fought since beating Andre Berto in September 2015, but he did attend Pacquiao's fight on Saturday.
"Floyd came to the fight and he was very friendly with [Top Rank president] Todd [duBoef] and some of our staff," Arum said . "Now, that doesn't mean that the fight will happen, but if it does, it won't take a long time to make because the animosity that was there before the first fight is gone. There's no more animosity between the camps."

They milked it for a good amount. No matter when they fought, the result would be the same.....an easy Floyd victory. Too fast and too smart for Manny.

A rematch is a strict cash grab for everyone involved.

Regardless of the outcome, a trilogy of prime fighters would have made more than these two old dudes rematching will bring in. But we all know Floyd doesn't fight prime.

Then you should be mad at Bob Arum. His animosity towards Floyd for dropping him and succeeding along with his greed kept the fight from happening for years.

There would never have been a trilogy since Manny could have 3 good arms and still not beat Floyd.

I'll watch a pirate feed before paying for any Mayweather fight if he comes out of retirement.

your posts are way off topic. Whose mad? this thread is about money and dudes way past their primes :think2:

plus Castillo beat Floyd, you act is if young Manny would have been a sure thing. Would have been a much better fight that anything they both can do now.

Mr. Mark is right. They probably got more from their fight than they would've if they fought 10 years earlier....but fights #2 & #3 would've generated so much more

My point is that there never would have been a 3rd fight. Floyd would have won an easy 12 round decision at any time in their careers. At most you would get 2 boring fights from them. Manny was a beast in his prime but no match for Floyd's speed and ring smarts.

Floyd could agree to a rematch and get an 80/20 split because Manny is in need of cash and Arum knows he only has 1 or 2 paydays left from him.
