Happy Vet's Day to all my fellow service members at the RX that have served or continue to serve.
Quick story for you. I'd been in Afghanistan for 10 months before I came home on R&R back a few years ago. We got off the plane in Dallas and were on an upper floor concourse tunnel type thing with Plexiglas windows. Below us was an entire floor of people at gates getting ready to fly.
We offloaded like 150 or so military dudes in full uniforms coming directly from Afghanistan. Uniforms dirty and we were all very tired. Everyone waiting at those gates stood up and cheered for us for about 10 minutes. It was the greatest single moment of my military career.
I wish our Vietnam Vets could've experienced what I experienced that day.
