With five of the top nine teams in the country losing this past Saturday, we knew some serious changes in the polls were coming.
There has also been plenty of shake-up in Vegas, where Bovada released updated national championship odds late Monday.
So what are the current odds to win the title?

These odds are long and bet the Gators at your own peril. If they lose this weekend against LSU, chances are they won't make the SEC title game. If they don't win the SEC, there's zero chance they make the playoff. There's a very realistic chance that the Gators could be completely off the board by this time next week.

>Colorado Buffaloes, 66-1

The Buffaloes are one of the big movers and shakers on this list, moving from off the board, all the way up to 66-1 this week. Colorado's season will be defined in the next two weeks, when they play Washington State and Utah. Win those two, and I can only imagine what the Buffaloes' odds will be.

Meet college football's hottest team, the Washington State Cougars. Wazzu has won eight straight since starting the year 0-2, but beware placing a wager on them. With a loss to FCS school Eastern Washington, the Cougs would only get into the playoff if the committee really had no other options.

Utah Utes, 66-1

The third of three Pac-12 contenders behind Washington, the Utes are quietly putting together another monster season. They should have no problem getting by Oregon this week, before a tough matchup with Colorado to close the regular season.

Oklahoma State Cowboys, 66-1

After losing two of their first four, the Cowboys have quietly snuck into the playoff conversation. But they'll have to beat Oklahoma on the final weekend of the regular season to even be considered.

Call me insane, but doesn't Penn State feel like a great bet at 66-1? If Ohio State to beats Michigan, the Nittany Lions will play for the Big Ten title -- and if they win, they'll likely get a playoff spot. You could do a lot worse things with your money than wagering on Penn State here.

West Virginia Mountaineers, 50-1

The Mountaineers are college football's quiet Big 12 title and playoff contender after a victory over Texas last week put them at 8-1. If West Virginia can squeak by Oklahoma this week, it isn't just likely they finish 11-1, it's probable. Would that be enough to get them into the playoff?

<img data-sizes="(max-width: 425px) 100vw,(max-width: 767px) 100vw,(min-width: 768px) 75vw,(min-width: 1024px) 50vw" data-srcset="http://b.fssta.com/uploads/content/dam/fsdigital/fscom/college-football/images/2016/10/05/Washington-Huskies-Chris-Petersen.vadapt.480.high.0.jpg 480w, <a href=" http:="" b.fssta.com="" uploads="" content="" dam="" fsdigital="" fscom="" college-football="" images="" 2016="" 10="" 05="" washington-huskies-chris-petersen.vadapt.320.high.0.jpg"="" target="_blank">Washington Huskies, 33-1

The big loser from last weekend? How about Washington, which fell from 9-1, all the way down to their current spot at 33-1. That drop (coupled with relatively small drops for fellow Saturday losers Michigan and Clemson) should concern Washington fans and bettors for two reasons. One, the committee believes they might lose again before the season is over. It also means even if they do win out, it might not be enough to make the playoff.

Oklahoma Sooners, 25-1

The Sooners were one of Saturday's big winners, with so many teams in front of them losing. If they can win out, it seems like the Sooners - as an undefeated, Big 12 champ - would have a strong case to make the playoff, depending on what else happens around them.

Wisconsin Badgers, 25-1

While all the focus is on Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State in the Big Ten, Wisconsin has a more direct path to the conference title game: Win out against against Purdue and Minnesota, and they're in the conference title game. Win there, and they're probably in the playoff. But even if Wisconsin makes the Final Four, do they have enough in them to win two more games once they get there?

Michigan Wolverines, 10-1

For all the talk about last weekend's loss, here's the simple truth with Michigan: Win out, and they're in the playoff. At 10-1, this is still a solid, smart bet.

Clemson Tigers, 10-1

Same with Clemson. All they've got to do is win out, and they are in the playoff. And bettors backing Clemson have an additional reason to feel good about their bet: If any team won't fear Alabama in a potential playoff meeting it's got to be Tigers, who nearly beat them last year.

Louisville Cardinals, 15-2

This feels like a bit of a surprising line, since there is no clear path for Louisville to make the playoff. But if they can get in, watch out. Lamar Jackson and his teammates have enough talent to beat anyone in college football. Even Alabama.

Considering the Buckeyes are listed as almost a full touchdown favoirte over Michigan, you know Vegas loves Ohio State. But just how much? They're currently projected as having the second best odds to winning the national championship, even though they don't have a direct path to the Big Ten title game, let alone the playoff. Ohio State is good. National title good. At least according to Vegas.

Alabama Crimson Tide, 1-1

How good are the the Crimson Tide? They're actually even money to win the title, meaning to win $100 bucks betting them, you'd have to put down $100 up front.
Times may change, and seasons too, but one thing remains the same. It's Alabama and everyone else atop the college football world.
