Escape Room

Went to my first "Escape Room" on Friday night with the Mrs and 2 of the kids. I was not familiar with these prior....apparently they have been around for years and really peaked in popularity last year......for example, I read that there were 85 alone in the city of Toronto!

Basic premise is that they "lock" you in a room and tell you to "go".....then you just look around the room and figure out clues, riddles, etc to get to the last clue and "escape"...nothing scary. You have 60 minutes to do so or else time is up. When I researched them after, looks like 60 minutes is pretty standard.

We had fun, enjoyed it...BUT definitely pricey at $26 per person

Anyone ever done one of these?

Yeah, Defying dragged me to one last time I visited. I was totally skeptical, I thought I was going to hate it, but I actually had a lot of fun.

I think it was like $18/person where we went. Also 60 minutes.

I would definitely do it again.

$25 and 45 minutes here. They currently have two rooms, Tomb, and Alcatraz. They offer a couple other scary rooms leading up to Halloween as well. It's okay, a little pricey, so way better when your workplace books it for "team building".

Anyone been to the murder mystery dinners before? those seem fun also

Reminds me of pogs, the pet rock and all go pro products..flash in the pan and none of these will exist in a year or two.

I have not been, Wife been asking me to go to one, so I am sure I will be at one soon.

not sure I agree with you...looking them up after I went, seem to have been around for many years. People are starving for entertainment.

i did a zombie one last yr. so bucks and came out of there sweating like crazy. fun though!

I don't agree either. Place is making a killing and hasn't slowed down since opening. Not to mention they have 2 haunted houses attached to the business name, and they BOOM! Go Pro is still booming as well...

as long as they keep making new rooms every so often (no one is going to pay to go to the same themed room) and add on more business (like haunted houses) they might be able to prosper for some time
