Christine Michael has found his landing spot one day after being waived by the Seattle Seahawks.
The Green Bay Packers claimed Michael off waivers Wednesday, a person familiar with the move told USA TODAY Sports' Tom Pelissero, to bolster a backfield hurt by injuries. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the move had not been announced.
A first-round pick in 2013, Michael was the Seahawks' leading rusher this season with 469 yards and six touchdowns on 117 carries. But the return of starter Thomas Rawls and the emergence of rookie C.J. Prosise made Michael expendable for Seattle.
With Eddie Lacy on injured reserve, the Packers have had to play wide receiver Ty Montgomery at running back this season. James Starks returned from a knee injury last week but had just seven carries in Green Bay's 45-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans.
The Packers face the Seahawks in Week 14.
