They should keep the opening week Thursday night game, and the three games on Thanksgiving. The rest should disappear.

Not sure about keeping the week 1 Monday night double-header.

They need to figure out a way to have flex scheduling for the 2nd half of the season on Monday nights. That would make for better prime-time games.

We will miss it when it's gone
probably true because I recall back in the early 2000's they had some Thursday Night Specials and I always said they should have one every week. In that article it talked about one possibility being to play Thursday night games from Thanksgiving on....that may work

Bring back the Thursday Night announce team of Brad Nessler and Mike Mayock.

They won't get rid of the Thursday night games, you could have the worst NFL game imaginable and the ratings will still crush whatever show they're going up against, just too much $$$ involved. If anything you'll eventually see the NFL go to 2 bye weeks instead of only one. The NFL won't play on Fridays for the same reason you don't see very many college games on Fridays, they don't want to take away from High School football.

The answer is simple to me. Keep thursday, expand to 18 games, add another bye week. Any team playing on thursday will have a bye the week before. NFL has the shortest season of all major sports. This proposal will extend the bye week and allow for more rest for the players. I think everyone wins. You could probably eliminate 1 preseason game as well.

Thursday night games make for some scary fantasy decisions, won't hurt my feelings if they scrap em.
