</header>During his prime, Tiger Woods was once favored in 35 consecutive tournaments, a stretch that ended at the 2010 PGA Championship.

Six years and multiple knee and back surgeries later, Woods' odds are drastically different this week, when he returns to competitive tournament golf for the first time in 15 months.

Woods is 40-1 to win the Hero World Challenge, a tournament he is hosting in the Bahamas. At the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, he has the longest odds of any golfer in the 18-person field.

Dustin Johnson is the favorite at 9-2, followed by Jordan Spieth and Hideki Matsuyama, who are both at 13-2.
The betting action on the offseason tournament is minimal at the Westgate so far. Assistant manager and golf odds specialist Jeff Sherman said only a handful of bets had been placed as of Tuesday morning, including one $10 wager on Woods. No golfer had more than three tickets.

The Westgate has posted odds on the Hero World Challenge in past years. Sherman said he expects the tournament to generate about "one-third" of the amount that is bet on a normal PGA Tour event.

The Westgate has Woods' over/under on his first-round score set at 72.5. He is a -170 favorite to hit the fairway with his first tee shot.

The sportsbook also is offering odds on whether Woods will withdraw during the tournament: "Yes" is +300, with "No" -360. The tournament does not have a cut.

A 14-time major champion, Woods is listed at 12-1 to win at least one major in 2017 and at 50-1 to win the Masters at the SuperBook.
