The Asian-themed property catering to Chinese gamblers and guest began operations Saturday, in what officials characterized as a soft opening, ahead of a Dec. 3 grand opening, KSNV-TV reported. Despite there being no announcement, the Lucky Dragon opened last week, three weeks ahead of schedule. It’s being termed a “soft” opening, but the casino, bars, and all of the restaurants except one are operating, and rooms are available.
As expected, the resort is designed to attract the Asian market, with all signs displaying Chinese first, then English; restaurants featuring mostly Chinese fare; and 27 out of 40 table games dealing baccarat. There’s no craps, keno or bingo, and no sports book. Dec. 3 is still designated as the official opening.
