Bettor loses 15-game, $100K parlay as Patriots fail to cover -- by 1

Darren Rovell
ESPN Senior Writer

A man who bet $5 on a 15-leg parlay card at a William Hill sports book in Nevada needed the New England Patriots to win by more than seven points to win $100,000 on Monday.

Because the Patriots beat the Baltimore Ravens by exactly seven, 30-23, the result of the 15th game of the parlay, after the previous 14 had come through, was a push.

William Hill spokesman Michael Grodsky confirmed to ESPN that it was an all-or-nothing parlay card. As such, the push didn't reduce it to winning a 14-leg parlay; it made the entire card worthless.

Parlay cards are a rip off. Lines are always skewed. If the guy just parlays the same games "off the board" to the clerk he probably get NE - 6 and wins or worst case pushes and still wins the other leg.

Kick looked to be hooking wide, but sliced back in.....second kick like that he had

can't imagine his disbelief still about two fumbled kicks in 14 seconds leading to two short TD's and getting the Ravens back in the game

for 38 minutes he was on cruise control, in minute 39 he started shiting his pants

You could technically hedge by just buying a pt from 6.5 to 7.5 on the Ravens

If it lands on 7, you win the Ravens bet and if Pats cover then you win the parlay.

But you would need some outs/$ to get that done obviously.

The line was 7 most of the week. Sucks that ties didn't push. I wouldn't ever do a parlay card at 7 where ties lose.

Oh Boy did it.

That stressed me out.

I can Testify tho, that kick it looked like The Golden Boy Justin Tucker had missed it.

And what was up with his Onside Kick? Directly after that FG?

He lays the ball flat on its side basically then does a pirouette like Mamie's Daughter Isabelle in Swan Lake, over the ball before he kicks it

then the ball just rolls gently into the hands of NE

cuz Dumbass laid the ball on its SIDE, initially.

Immediately I knew the HYPE that Sports Media has been doing about JT had gone to his head. All the Interviews,

the written pieces, talking about his $16 Million Salary, how he had not missed in so long, how well he sings.

I believe he's better now tho, that the NE Game has caused him to come back down to Earth.

Yes. Assuming all the other 14 had won by the time the NE game started.

Or a HT or live bet on the Ravens during the game. When the Pats were up big he might have found
something like Baltimore +20, giving an excellent shot at a middle & insuring the parlay wager.

If NE went for and converted a shortish FG in the dying seconds, he'd likely have cashed the parlay.

I've heard of parlays in Vegas that pay shit odds but have fixed odds and everything has a hook so there are no ties and sometimes you get a very good line. What I haven't heard of is ties lose parlays. William Hill has brought this already shit town to new lows. What an embarassment. Reminds me of the cards at this local pub here. PK games are -2 on both sides and ties lose.

$5 regular 15 team parlay at -110 pays about 80k at fair odds. Has anyone seen the ticket? I'd like to see the lines, I'm sure there were no hooks anywhere on it. Bunch of scam artists at Will Hill.

Great Post. Real Possible that all 14 were in cuz 14 other football games occurred prior, the last one ending about an hour before that SNF and I don't know Will Hill Parlay Cards but Leroy's used to have one like this that had ONLY NFL Football. Others were devoted to other sports.

Thank GOD they did not kick that damn FG. Thats why I'm blind still with rage over Tucker's Lameass Onside Kick attempt. Just go up and hand Brady who has already TORCHED your D for 420+ yards the ball at YOUR 47 dipshit.

I was "Lucky" to get that Push. Lucky times MULTIPLES of at the least THREE.

Ties Lose were how Leroy's did on these and thats been AGES AGO, I seem to recall PK games being -2 on both sides as well. I once got 10 out of 11, on a Leroy's Parlay Card, in Laughlin NV.

Oh this card was this:

$100,000 Card (Pro games available only)
For just $5, customers can gun for a 6-figure payout each weekend! All pro football sides are available on the card, along with a handful of totals. On each card, pick 15 selections, and it’s simple – a 15-of-15 selection wins a cool $100,000!

IIRC on the Leroy's ones the minimum was 6 games, had to play at least 6 games....I don't know, wish I could recall the odds its been so long ago now tho.

I can recall enough to know that you would not like the answer, at all. To: "What was the payout on a 6 teamer with ties lose?"
