Find out Friday...

Netflix is letting everyone unwrap an early Christmas present on Friday: an eight-episode series that has remained a virtual mystery. Time notes The OA—starring Brit Marling as a young woman who comes back to her family after vanishing seven years earlier—looks like it's going to meld "science fiction, mystery, and horror," but beyond that basic plot point, not much else is known about the show. The magazine says it may "scratch the itch" of fans of Stranger Things and Westworld while those shows are on break. Netflix's sparse description labels it a "powerful, mind-bending tale about identity, human connection, and the borders between life and death."

I'm not sure where Netflix gets the money these days to pay for all of these original movies & shows.

But I'm liking it like...

how many monthly subscribers do they have?

Not sure but only $10 per month.

They have to be paying millions for some of these actors lately in their movies, not counting production fees.

Guess they are bringing in much more than I would have guessed...

I believe they just hit 90 million a few months ago.

10 billion 800 million a year.
900 million a month.
29 million 589 thousand 41 dollars and 10 cents a day.
1 million 232 thousand 876 dollars and 71 cents an hour.
20 thousand 547 dollars and 95 cents a minute.
342 dollars and 47 cents a second.

With all the free streaming movie and TV series sites available there is no reason to pay for NF. Actually much more than NF is showing.

Did not have time to watch today but here is one of the first reviews I could find...

I just finished binge watching this. This story pulls you in the acting is very good. Storyline is engaging and moves at a decent pace. The plot is something you don't want to know more than what's written above. The cinematography was well done with a few major actors playing some of the roles. I can tell you I am still chewing on the ending, because ,, yes it's one of those that must sink in and mull around a bit. Worth the watch, I couldn't go to sleep till I finished it, it was engrossing. Some nudity, and cursing, drug references but nothing major so maybe tv14 even though it got an MA rating. Well worth your time! Again the ending is very interesting to say the least. At first I wanted to be ticked off then it sinks in and haunts you. Enjoy.

Very strange, but different (which in this day and age is worth a watch since almost everything seems to be a remake or copycat) - Letterkenny.
Check out "the problem" with Gail in Season one, episode 3 (if you don't have Hulu, youtube "the problem with Gail, Season one, episode 3", where she's called before the board to explain her posts.)
Hilarious dialogue.
And she moves like a creature in a Ray Harryhausen movie. Freaky. Watching her is like rubbernecking at a roadside crash. You want to look away but can't.

Other than that, Truman and the Swans was okay, only because it's always fun watching Capote impersonators.

Discovered Reservoir Dogs, binged through that, uneven/hit or miss at times but okay for the same reason Letterkenny is okay - it's different. And strange.

Anybody got any suggestions for anything worth a watch - post them up. Thanks.
