Not so sure this is a good or bad thing. This is basically a digital personal assistant that is ALWAYS ON AND ALWAYS LISTENING. It will play your streaming music in 360 degree digital sound. that's the cool part. It will order you a pizza, call room service, order an Uber ride, answer weather and traffic questions. It can even hear you through the music. It does a lot. The bad news is, THAT THING IS ALWAYS ON AND IS ALWAYS LISTENING!!! Not so sure that's a good thing......

It has a button on the top of the unit if you want to turn it off.
If you don't trust that, you can unplug the unit!

About Echo

I have one and this thing is listening all the time. You could have the tv on and if you say "Alexa" it will light up.
