I love Clemson. I think this line should be a pick. Clemson has similar athletes as Bama and huge advantage at qb. LSU type athletes on defense, except they have an excellent, mobile qb ( who feels slighted, as does every other f athlete in the world) a capable rb who will be more important in protection than running the ball. No one runs on Bama, I get it, but Watson gonna get me 60 yards and keep the tide lbs honest. Watson throwing to Legget, Mike Williams, Cain, and Renfrow. Hell guys, 3, maybe 4 of those play makers will be pros. Last year in the title game, he had no Cain (suspended) and no Williams (injured) They moved up and down on the Tide, and now they have a full clip.

Kiffin is an outstanding OC. He called a strange game last week. But you can this guy the week before the championship? You trust Sarkinsian in a tight game? This will hurt Bama. I dont love Hurts as it is and now you take away his OC week before the game? A true freshman who should have been picked off twice last week. Clemson has the d line to slow he and Bo. Maybe this time, Clemson remembers OJ Howard? Clemson handled the qb runs well against OSU and I think they make Hurts a passer and I am just fine with that.

I expect to be in the minority here, but I dont love Alabama as much as most. Pride comes before the fall Nick. You will regret canning Lane. I love fading a freshman qb. I love fading Sarkisian. I like the way the Clemson d matches up against Tide offense. I really like the way Clemson O will challenge the Tide D the way no one has since...Clemson. Its dangerous betting against Saban, but Dabo starting to grow on me. Cause when he knocks off Urban and Saban in consecutive games, that is some drop the mic shit there.

Clemson gettin 6 here is an absolute joke, everything points to them having the superior team.

Hurt was offensive player of the year in the SEC, correct? Not bad. He looked like ca ca against Washington, though.
Hard to go against the ACC success in the bowls with the conference champ Clemson +6 1/2 points, but they creamed a vastly overrated Big 10 team Ohio State with problems on offense. Their OL caved when their LG was hurt early in the game. And The Big 10 looked bad the whole bowl season (though of course so did the Pac 12 with Bama having beat Washington).
Bama played weird but could have beat Washington by 40 the way they usually play.
I am not certain where to go on this but a gut reaction based upon how Clemson took apart OSU is to be questioned. Clemson played a lot of close games this year that they barely squeaked by while Bama creamed 10 top ranked teams over the course of the year.
IF you throw out the two playoff games (vs OSU and Washington) I still look at Bama as a big favorite, a team that can win by 20.
Respectfully, I dunno.

I am def not basing my prediction on last week. Clemson destroyed an urban meyer team that had a month to prepare. Given that OSU offense was garbage, they still put up 30 against a quality defense. Clemson is THE best offense Bama has faced since...clemson.. Clemson moved the ball last year sans Williams and Cain. Mobile qbs have given Bama in the past and I am absolutely comfortable taking Watson and 6. Clemson def looked a little lazy at times this year and I do expect Watson to turn it over and the special teams scare the f out of me. I hate Saban firing Lane a week before and I love fading a true FR qb. Hurts has looked good this year but if Clesmon slows the backs like I believe they will, I love asking Hurts to beat Clemson with his arm. I mean, Washington has a good defense and it slowed him big time. Lsu has a good defense and they held Bama to 10. I believe the Clemson defense will have similar success but the difference is, they possess an excellent offense with the best qb in the country imo. I dont see Clemson having 8 three and outs. This team will spread Bama out and with the Watson running threat, they will move the ball, imo.

I dont know either.

Mobile qb's have given Bama problems in the past, which is why Saban started recruiting smaller, quicker lb's that can play in space. This def looks and plays much different than past Saban defenses. Clemson will have problems stopping the Bama power running game, much like they did vs FSU when Cook gashed them time and time again. Good luck.

There was lines on this game before clemson beat ohio state they were +10 or more. I think this line is a value for Bama based off the over reaction of the Ohio state game. Watson has 17 ints this year better hope that guy doesn't show up or could get ugly.

I am on Clemson tonight also myself. That being said this all depends on whether the good Deshaun Watson or the bad Deshaun Watson shows up. If he plays lights out as has been stated before, the way Alabama struggles with mobile QBs Clemson wins this decidedly. If he throws a pick 6 or 2 Alabama wins decidedly. I think we have said all year the SEC is overrated, with Oklahoma beating Auburn pretty soundly Monday night I think that supports this. Mississippi St struggled with Miami, Tennessee had their problems with sub average Nebraska. The only bowl game that points toward a large advantage for Alabama was LSU beating the shit out of Louisville. And its hard to read Louisville some weeks they looked like they could beat New England other weeks they looked like they would struggle with Iowa State. So in his last college appearance I am guessing the good Deshaun Watson shows up . If he doesn't, I guess that's why this is called gambling.....

coaching favors Bama...though Sark calling the plays instead of Kiffy adds a wrinkle
experience favors Clemson. Bama bringing in a few more new guys than Clem here, esp at QB

the line is definitely not a joke. Bama beats everyone by a TD and usually much much more. Bama did face a much easier schedule this year as the entire SEC was "down" from where it normally is.

Clemson recruited well and has the best college players around
Bama has the best of the best. Saban is the top recruiter and a top coach and that's why Bama is the top dog every year.

It comes down to coaching IMO. What has Dabo learned? What new wrinkles can Saban put out there against Clemson? Can Clemson avoid turnovers? That's the key to Bama winning their big games. Watson has shown he will turn the ball over to make a big play.....

I think Bama wins here again. Better coaching and better defense gets them the W. Can they win by 10+? Dunno. That's a lot to ask against the Tigers. Should be another great game.

good luck guys

Then why did Chad Kelly have so much more success this year than last?

This is kinda what I've been thinking also. Clemson defense is playing lights out right now, so I don't see Bama being able to score much tonight....17-21 pts maybe. If the Bama defense and special teams make some big plays, I think Bama may speak by. I was at the GA dome for Bama and Washington and I had a feeling after that game that Kiffin would be gone...they looked atrocious on offense (zero passing game). Watson is a program changing QB, he destroyed us last year so maybe that motivates the defense alot. But I put my money on the points

you based that on ONE game though. against a team that could not pass the ball. Look at the points they gave up just before. 35 to VT. or how about 43 to Pitt in early Nov?
36 to LV. 34 to FSU. i think it's flawed logic to think Clemson suddenly and magically turned on the light to their defense. They had 1 month to prepare for tOSU run game and good for them.
Bama is much more balanced on offense. Bama will score more

Of course I'm not basing everything off 1 game

Makes me a little nervous to see so much Clemson love tonight but I stand pat. Make Hurts throw and limit the turn overs and for the love of God, be on high alert on special teams the entire night and I think Clemson gets the win or at worst, the cover.

Alabama is ranked 81st throwing the ball. One spot before Ohio State. I do not think Bama has balance, all his throws are at the los with huge rac.

I don't think Bama can pass the ball either.

With 13 & 14 game schedules in college football today (play-offs) there is bound to be variations in performance both offensively and defensively as the weeks play-out. 18 -20 year-old kids cannot play consistently week-in and week-out.....hell, the pros can't do it. Throw-in the injury factor and the lingering bumps and bruises and there you are. These Kids will go all-out tonight...How this all ends-up .....We shall see. I like (under) the number, currently (51'). Good luck.

Bobby J we were right, Deshaun was good enough.

We backed the right qb. A lot of respect for that squad, they got hit early and they didnt fold. Maybe thats why Dabo does a good job recruiting talent with character. Congrats Sol.
