texting is the new crack for these kids.

My call center reps have skills, yet lack in soft skills because of the less verbal interactions.

Smarter? Debatable, we have a lot of knowledge available but we may use access as a crutch

I don't know about lazy or dumb. But entitled and impatient, for sure.

When I was in high school and college, you had to go to the library, find the right books and research the shit out of a topic to finish a reports on it, for example. The internet was just becoming commonplace when I was in college, but it didn't contain anywhere near the info you can find today. Anyone remember the primitive form of Google called Infoseek?

Today, any kind of information you need is a few clicks away. When you get used to everything being done for you, it doesn't translate into a great work ethic. Just ask employers...
