I'm nearing retirement and want to set up a nice on-line horse racing area in my finished basement. I work with computers on my job and never have purchased one for home. Use my phone for internet. I would like to maybe set up a system where I use Twinspires and Xpress bet feeds--which I do now--and feed them into my TV. Does anybody have a desk, computer setup? Any suggestions? I can afford any computer, but don't know if I want a PC or something like a Microsoft Surface. I'll need a printer for programs. I'm not a huge bettor, but would like to have a nice setup. Anybody out there do this now? Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you're asking. I don't think you require anything special other than making sure your computer's graphics card has an HDMI output for your TV.
I run 2 to 3 computers when I'm playing horses.
I have 2 monitors stacked, 1 for betting/live feed from Twinspires, the other with my handicapping programs and horsey stuff.Sometimes on slower days, I'll want to code at the same time, that's when I wheel out a laptop for the feed and use one of the desktopsfor coding. I use a hotspot and wifi adapters for the feed. Most people use their cable or satellite for internet but I don't have access to those.
I do like having a dedicated computer for the feed. Just seems to run smoother went it doesn't get interrupted.
I would say HDMI output, and internet speeds should be your only priorities.
