    I typically bet against anyone who goes low the previous day which Thomas did. He had a 3 shot lead over Rahm at that point and while I still liked him to beat him for the tournament, I thought Rahm would be 1-2 shots better on Sun.

    thanx for the explanation.

    somewhat similar to the "bounce" theory in horse racing. when a horse gives a tremendous effort it means a large expenditure of energy and he is a bet against his next time racing. maybe not the best rationale for the ensuing next off performance, but stats have confirmed the results over time.
