One week the new strength coach works out his kids so hard that several have to go to the hospital. A week later, the new co-offensive coordinator gets popped for DUI and is probably going to lose his job. What is happening with program. Several outlets were even reporting that the strength coach did not even have the background and that he's not even registered (with training and certs) with the official NCAA folks that govern athletics and the strength and conditioning programs nationally.

All of the above compounded by some of the worst weather the Pacific Northwest (State of Oregon) has experienced in 20 years; Excessive snow, freezing rain, ice storms and below average temperatures, all of which lends to a dreary environment that can lead to dinking and other distracting outlets (can a sex scandal be far away). The program has it's work cut out for itself.

No they don't, Taxi companies have fought tooth and nail to keep them out. Tough to catch a cab on normal day, if it's the weekend or god forbid a gameday you're better off walking or taking Bus cause you will wait hours for one and that's if you can even get them to pick up the phone.

...and for all you hungry tide fans, I congratulate you for seeing Sarkisian his way out the door after just one game.
Its only a matter of time until he stinks up the place wherever he lands. He is the poster boy for mediocrity in the NFL.
I was never a great fan of Atlanta pro ball anyway. Nothing gained nothing lost.

But what do you think of Saban's original opinion of him now? Ya think Nick just might have caught a glimpse of the
truth close up? I surely do and who knows, maybe he does have a little to do with that new "dent" in 'Bama's reputation?
OK so maybe Saban fucked up (at least a little) when he hired him but he was man enough to own up to it so he didn't
do what was needed to keep the new OC on the payroll. IMHO Saban is still at the top of the game. Both of his 2 NC game
losses were to 2

There's hope on the horizon with the news that Oregon's 2017 recruiting class has come in ranked #16 with Scout.

I have a feeling the Oregon football team will show-up for all of their scheduled 2017 games. This year's successful recruiting class will lay the groundwork for a competitive output, especially if they bolstered their defensive ranks which I suspect has been going on for a couple of years now. It will be interesting to see how many of these new recruits will be able to contribute their first year.................Gosh, could their be another Marcus within ?

The Ducks offense is loaded with talent as expected. Possibly enough to take it all to the house. I just hope that sophomore QB of theirs can show that he learned things over the spring/summer break.

Willie hired an excellent staff. They just need to get some talent/recruit (and Willie can do that - watch the team he left Charlie Strong in tampa this year).

Brady Hoke was a joke and he's gone like Helfrich.
It was only a glitch Clover.
Taggert demands and gets what he wants.
I have no reservations about his hire.
Their practice sessions have picked up 100% over last year.
I like what I see.

Oregon Ducks shut out in NFL draft for first time since 1985

Just shows how much the program declined under Helfrich.

Looks like they got some good players to commit after yesterday's spring game.

Can't argue with you about Sam Darnold. He's LA's version of Marcus Mariotta.

But the Ducks picked up a few decent graduate transfers that will play this year to
bolster their line and I don't think that USC has the horses in their backfield that
matches Oregon's backs.

But then again, I've flipped on my opinion of Clay Helton. I used to think he was
just another mediocre hire but now I think a lot better of him. Let's see what he
can do with his Trojans from the start.

The Ducks will be very competitive with Taggert in charge.

[h=1]The reason Willie Taggart took a select group of jersey numbers away from Oregon players[/h]

Oregon’s spring is now in the books, but Willie Taggart is still holding single-digit jerseys until fall.

The new Oregon coach took them away in the winter after he arrives, saying players who wore them had to earn them. That continues into the summer.

"Not only do you have to be a good football player you've got to be a good student and have great character," Taggart said. "We want guys to have all three things in order to get those numbers back."

Last year’s Oregon team had 12 players wearing single-digits, including some duplicates on both sides of the ball. Nine of those players return in 2017. Oregon’s spring game was on Saturday, but Taggart won’t determine if the players earn them for quite a while still.

"We're going to continue to evaluate that over the summer," he said. "… You can't just have it for a good five months and then go the other way. I'm going to continue to evaluate that and let guys continue to work for it if they really want it."

It was a successful finish to a spring for Taggart after a rocky start to his tenure included three hospitalized players and an arrested assistant. But the staff got completed, Taggart was happy with the growth in the field, and the Ducks added five new recruiting commits over the weekend.

"The competition made us a better football team," Taggart said. "When I talk about getting better, it's learning how to compete. You compete like that every day and that's what helps us get better."
