Just wondering if anyone has sent a bitcoin transaction that never got confirmed and got returned to your original account?

I sent one yesterday, it still hasn't been confirmed. The bitcoin has left my orginal account but hasn't been credited to my other account. I've double checked the address and it's right. When I look at the transaction it just says unconfirmed. Just wondering if anyone has had this happen and how long it took to go back to your orginal account.

Thanks

There's been a back up in bitcoin transactions. If you sent the proper fee it should be confirmed today.

You can also rebroadcast the transaction if sent with a tiny fee. https://blog.blockchain.com/2014/07/08/tutorial-how-to-rebroadcast-a-bitcoin-transaction/

Every time I try to follow those steps it says "transaction already exist".

But its been over 24 hours and it hasnt been confirmed. My wallet it came from says sent and has 0 balance. And the wallet it is going to says recieving and the right amount. It jsut hasn't changed to recieved and credited to the account. I dont know what i can do to speed this along. I've never had this happen before. I have sent another transaction from the same waller today for a less amount and it went through in about 30 minutes.

If it says that transaction already exists then all is well and you don't have to rebroadcast again.

Which wallets are you guys sending from? blockchain.info, coinbase?

So after doing some research, it appears that the transaction from 5D to my blockchain.info account never got confirmed and is still showing as uncomfirmrd. Blockchain showed it as in my account even though it was unconfirmed, so I then sent it from there to my bitpay account. That transaction is still showing unconfirmed as well. The one sent from 5D to my blockchain was on Monday around 4pm est. Ans its still showing unconfirmed. So im assuming that is the problem, once that gets confirmed everything will. So shoukd I contact 5D about it or what should I do?

Unfortunately at this time there is nothing that can be done by 5Dimes to speed up or cancel the transfer. 5Dimes may have sent a transaction fee that is too small.

People are still having delays. Right now by increasing the miner's fee, it will help get transactions confirmed fast.

This shows the fee that should be paid. On the top left change the drop down from satoshis to BTC.

https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

Currently
[h=2]Which fee should I use?[/h]The fastest and cheapest transaction fee is currently 0.0000012 BTC/byte, shown in green at the top.

For the median transaction size of 226 bytes, this results in a fee of 0.0002712 BTC.

Thanks for the responses guys. It finally went through this afternoon. I was getting kind of worried, I've never had one take more than an hour or so lol.
