We knew that the recovery time for Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater would be a long road. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer already said that he wasn't sure when Bridgewater will be back, if at all in 2017.

According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, Bridgewater is expected to miss the entire 2017 season and the earliest Bridgewater could be fully healthy is March of 2018.

This is tough news for Bridgewater, but it's not exactly a surprise after Bridgewater tore his ACL and dislocated his knee in a freak injury last August.

Bridgewater is only 24, so he's got plenty of career ahead of him if he can get back to full strength. The tricky thing here is that Bridgewater is in the last year of his rookie contract next season considering it's unlikely the team will pick up a fifth-year option on a player who hasn't played a down in two seasons. Will the Vikings bring him back for 2018?

A lot of people knocked the Vikings for giving up a first-round pick for quarterback Sam Bradford, but right now, it doesn't look like the worst thing.

How many superbowls can you win with a quarterback like that? The odds are close to 0%. This is a good thing for them.

How many superbowls will you win with all white corners and safeties?

Zero.

Bradford sucks ass. I don't know why these fucking owners invest these loser QB's. My fuckign blind grandmother could tell that Cutler is a loser QB and will never win shit... and my grandmother is dead.

How can you even begin the process... when set it up immediately to fail? The second you sign Cutler and all these fucking other loser players.... your teams lose. I could name endless names in football, basketball, tennis.....

Here are the alternative facts

Bradford just had one of the highest completion percentages in the history of the game. Not exactly a bottom tier QB. Consider the poor offensive line he had in front of him....he did great.

Word I had in Minnesota was that Bridgewater would not be back in 2017 and possibly career ending. I think the trade for Bradford was a great move. Gave up a first round pick. Do I need to list the first round picks that are a bust? Just because you have a first round pick doesn't make the player great or even good. I am totally fine with the trade. The Vikings can definitely win a Superbowl with Bradford as QB. There are a bunch of QB's in the league that start that I would not say the same thing about.

You might want to read that again. I give you a pass since you're a Minnesota fan in all likelihood.

In 2 out of the last 15 Superbowls you had a trash can quarterback bring home the bacon. Other than that, it's all elite level QB's that always win.

And Wilson would not be winning any Superbowls if it weren't for his coach. Same as the Steelers' coach would not be winning any Superbowls if it weren't for the fact he's had Rowtittyburger the whole time.

This is just reality.

You're probably a nice guy and no offense to you.. but the Vikings have a trash can head coach and a trash can QB (whichever one you throw in there). These are just the facts.

I could make a 10-page list of losing coaches and players. It just is what it is.

Reality is in any sport give me a great defense and I increase my chances of winning. Football, basketball, pitching, goal tending.....I am in every game and a threat to win. Great offensive teams have a bad game and look what happens.

The flaw in your theory is the elite QB. Start with last year...Manning elite QB? Not at that time in his career. In another thread I have raised the question of how good he really is. Big numbers in regular season and nothing in the playoffs. Your elite QB was benched.

Go back to New England with what would have gone down as the best team in history the year the score at will. Guess what...a little bit of an off day and a good Giants defense. No longer the best team in history. No chance in hell Eli is an elite QB.

Defense wins championships and the Vikings have some great young players on defense which is what you need to win a championship. Will they? Time will tell. I do know this ... I would rather have a young team with a great defense versus a young team with a great offense.

Just looking at the season stats and I dont know the age of the teams. I would base the age on where they were a few years ago....weaker teams got higher draft picks and become younger.

On the defensive side....better young defenses are Minnesota and Jacksonville. On the offensive side....better offenses are Washington and Oakland. I would take the defensive teams to win a superbowl before the offensive teams.

Not sure what you are arguing for. This is a proven fact and I showed you above with the list of winning QB's. You don't win unless you've got the quality QB driver. NFL channel or ESPN ran a stat a few weeks ago about quality QB's and arriving to the Superbowl or the playoffs. It was ridiculous. Yes, killer defenses are great... but at the end of the day you've got to have that brand-name QB. End of story.

Bridgewater or that alcoholic they've got up there in Minnesota is not going to win them a Superbowl. So if you're the owner of the Vikings you know before the games even start (especially with their lower tier coach) that they aren't going to win shit. Now, I don't know if their goal is money or what as some management teams don't give a shit about winning, but Minnesota won't win shit with their current approach.

And, obviously, it's not just Minnesota. I could name dozens of teams in all sports where they simply don't give a fuck.
But it is what it is.

What is your point in even arguing this dude? Oh wow, a mid-tier team is never going to win with a mid-tier QB, whether it be Teddy or Sam? Fascinating analysis, thanks for cluing us all in

Agree...so now we determine your chances of winning by the race of your players. SMH

What next....the race of their fans? Or maybe some sound reasoning like the mascot name?

Bridgewater is done. Mobility was his game. As for Bradford, I never saw anyone more concerned with his completion percentage. Third-and-9 and he'd throw a four-yard pass to his TE and pray the guy would bust two tackles. They be down two scores in the final two minutes and he'd dink and dunk downfield. He'll be a sitting duck again next year. Was not worth the draft pick.

Unfortunately for Bridgewater this may be true. I heard this from a friend of the surgeon that performed the surgery which was another reason for the Bradford trade. Too bad because at least according to how he was presented in the media.....he was a pretty decent young man.

Went to MN a couple months ago and was amazed how much the couple fans I talked to loved Sam. Vikes were a fun team to watch with Teddy. Almost torture watching them now with Sam
