CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A judge ordered a pair of men who cheated at the craps table at Cleveland's JACK Casino to return tens of thousands of dollars in illicit winnings, a judge has ruled.

Lonnie Bridges, Kenneth Young and a third man who has not been identified, used a scheme known as "dice sliding" to walk away from the casino on July 25, 2015 with more than $39,200, assistant Cuyahoga County prosecutor Jonathan J. Block said.

Judge Kelly Gallagher on Monday ordered the men return their spoils and serve five years probation after a jury convicted them in December of felony gambling charges.

Here's how prosecutors say the scheme worked:

The men took turns as the shooter. As one prepared to throw the dice, the other two would throw down last-minute, complex bets on a specific number that distracted the dealer.

As the dealers focused on the bets, the thrower, who had positioned the dice in his hand with specific numbers facing upward, would slid the dice across the table, instead of rolling them.

The dice would come to a rest with the predetermined numbers still facing upward, and the throwers collected the winnings.

The pair threw more than 22 times over several hours, and collected $18,000 on the final throw, Block said.

A worker started to tip off the casino's security. Bridges, Young and the third man collected their winnings and walked out the casino leaving their chips on the table, Block said.

"By sliding the dice and fixing the outcome, Lonnie Bridges and Kenneth Young took the fair and honest gameplay from everyone at the craps table that night," Block said in a written statement.

The Ohio Casino Commission and Cuyahoga County prosecutors took the case to a grand jury, which charged the men in October 2015.

How shitty was the box and dealers to not notice the dice weren't tumbling or hitting the back wall. Let alone to not no bet the late bets... i feel like someone on the crew had to be in on it

Not sure how this is even possible not to see what they were doing. I don't think I've ever been at a table that this wouldn't have been seen by someone including myself.

Wow what a clueless crew to let this happen

At the very least one employee is always watching the dice

I bet they didn't tip either, which is the real reason an employee informed security

The now defunct Revel used to have a string across the middle of the table to prevent "dice sliding". Never heard of that before then, can't imagine it being a thing

I guess they were throwing prop bets into the middle to distract the stick

I'm going to agree with someone in the crew.

I've seen this happen once, and the guy was approached right away and told not to do it again or they would boot him.
the guy was like in his 70's and he said that the dice slipped out of his hand.
he knew exactly what he was doing as he told a guy next to him , see .. I told you it would work !

So yeah you MIGHT get away with it once. but 22 times ???

Pretty much all tables have a string or rod to make sliding dice tumble. If u notice in the video though, the shooter is strategically positioned as close as possible to the middle, and he leans over and releases the dice past the "tumbler"

Whenever cheating occurs at a casino there is almost always an inside person involved.

I guess you don't play much Craps or where ever you play is some back woods casino.
I've never seen a string or Rod used on a Dice table, and I have played multiple casinos in Vegas, AC, Bahamas , PR and a couple of countries ... over 22+ Years
