Who is the greatest coach in the superbowl? Or who is the greatest coach in the superbowl era?

It's probably Belichick regardless but if you include defensive coordinator resume then it is easily him.

Success has spanned 4 decades, none of those other guys have more than 1.

Bill has 6 rings, and his appearing in his 9th SB (6-2 thus far)

and he didn't do it in a relatively short window with the same cast of characters

he brought a ton of different players to the SB, I'm sure he's brought the most ever to the game

I chose Bill Walsh because Blichick is a product of Bill Walsh leadership. I answered outside the question so actually as far as Super Bowls alone I guess I'd have to tip my hat to Belichick.

Yet he lost THREE TIMES THE SB OR IS IT 4??? 2 vs the giants who were big dogs, especially '08
When Belichick left the Giants he promised the Mara family that he would tank if he ever faced the Giants in a superbowl as a head coach.

That is an interesting conspiracy theory that id like to know more about, however, do I need to remind you NE lost the '08 SB in the last play with a hail mary throw by Corky Manning?

Ok he lost some Super Bowls. The Giants were the better team twice when the odds makers thought otherwise. Those games were very painful for New England fans but the guy is a coach not Merlin the magician. I think Willie99 summed up the Bellichick pick reasoning quite nicely in post #3.

A guy who has lost 2 SB's, one as a double digit favorite, is out polling the guy who was 4-0.

COME ON MAN!
