condolences, that had to be a hard pill to swallow

at what point did the people in GA start thinking "we could lose this game"?

like everyone else in the country would do, I have to think you were sitting there thinking "we're SB champs, wow, do you believe it"

that had to be shocking, then losing the coin flip, it's like you couldn't catch a break down the stretch

and it's amazing how things just pile on when things turn, like Edleman's catch, Ryan's sack and even the coin flip

I knew it was over when Ryan took the sack and Matthews got the holding call the next play knocking ATL out of FG range. A fg there and its impossible for NE to win. The D was starting to get gassed mid 3Q. Reminded me of the college NCG.

the reason I started this thread is to quietly respond to others saying stuff like "the Falcons were the right side" or somebody who picked the Falcons "capped the game spot on" and to some degree "the Falcons gave the game away"

Early turnovers gave the Falcons a big lead, the Patriots moved the ball almost at will for most of the game. At the end of the game, Brady and the Patriots completed dominated on offense

The Falcons punted on their last 4 possessions (actually punted 3 times, fumbled on 3rd down on the 4th possession)

The Falcons punted (or would have punted) on 7 out of ten possessions, those 7 possessions averages 4 fucking plays per possession

I'm not sure what more needs to be said about the flow of the game.

I totally concur, the Falcons were up 28-3 and they were looking good, and that was a gut wrenching loss for Falcon fans and backers, but the Pats were not out of the game and the Falcons did not outplay the Patriots by any standard of measurement, except for fewer turnovers.

The Falcons were not "the right side", and nobody who picked the Falcons "capped this game correctly".

Although one could argue that was a bad beat, tough way to lose.

You can look up every box score when a team throws a pick 6 they will always have inflated stats. Your boy Brady threw a horrible pick 6 so of course Pats and his stats are inflated. If you need an explanation you haven't watched enough football. Why can't you just be happy you guys lucked out and win? Every super bowl champion gets lucky at some point and Pats capitalized on the luck they were given by the horrendous coaching when ATL had the ball 1st and 10 at NE 22 up 8 with under 4 mins to go. Hell take 3 knees kick a 40 TD FG and ATL is super bowl champs! Yet they choked and NE took advantage of that choke job like champions do

Let's call it like it really is. You, I and everyone else in this entire forum knows that if the Falcons won that game you would have never heard the end of it.

Don't try and teach a pig to fly. You can't do it and it will piss off the pig. I thought the box score was pretty interesting. As you stated, one pick 6 isn't going to magically allow the pats to double the falcons in stats. The biggest fear for Falcons backers was that Matt Ryan would ice it up, or that Dan Quinn would choke in his first head coaching appearance against Belichick - yes, there is a difference between him being a coordinator on SEA and him coaching an entire team in the SB. That fear became a reality last night. The Falcons played that fourth quarter to not lose instead of playing to win and the patriots took advantage of that. Sure, there was a little luck in the coin toss, but the Falcons are to blame for giving the patriots every opportunity in the world to make a come back. That's all there is to it.

You make your own luck by staying in the game. New England did that and in the end the better team won.

Justify your loss however you need to but at the end of the day the cream rose to the top and you lost your bet. Move on sally.

Yes I understand who won and who covered etc. Brady is 3-4 in Super Bowls if the Seattle coaches and ATL coaches don't just literally give the game away. Pats are a lucky team and they really bring out the old adage that it's better to be lucky then good! Congrats Pats betters you guys had the luck on your side which is all you need!!
