Well I dug deeper,, I know the Exact % of whites in the 2016-17 NBA. I thought because i did 3 hours of research on it,, i should start a new thread so 10 years from now, we can see if there was improvement or not?
And just so you know, In identifying if a player was white American, I used 2 criteria,
1. where were they born
2. What race do THEY identify with. (there were a couple tough calls). In 1 case I couldnt find race, or identifying information, I found a video of them speaking ebonics therefore in that 1 case I was able to see they identified themselves with the black race.
currently there is 430 players. (+/- 20 players as lineups change, players are hired and fired weekly)
there is currently 39 WHITE American players in the NBA
11% is the % of their total
1 Team has NO WHITES whatsoever on their team, Indiana Pacers
8 Teams Have 0 AMERICANS (the players if looked at them would look white, but are Russian/Canadian/Australian/S.African)
10 Teams have 1 White American
The NBA team that is the LARGEST Employer of WHITE AMERICANS is,,, CHARLOTTE HORNETS
currently Charlotte is 21st out of 30 teams
