Major tourist trap but you will be a tourist so you should have a good time. Kids will have a good time and Harrahs Casino in Cherokee NC about an hour drive.

Definite southern twang to the trip. Gburg took a big hit in Nov-December with tragic fire that destroyed a large area, not sure how that might impact your trip but better check it out, many homes and businesses were destroyed. It may be ok but check it out

Leave the kids at home and accomplish "The Tail of the Dragon!"

Will be headed that way myself as soon as I feel like fronting another $1k+ tire bill.

Do you like pancakes?

Haha, there is so many pancake places its insane. I must have commented on it 15 times when we went there last year.

Also, if the kids are old enough you can book some white water rafting. Its pretty fun. Although i'm not sure if this time of year the rafting places are open or not.
