Here's what I'm looking at risk 5* win 425* oregon national title.

what's the greatest number I can guarantee myself?

I think the futures market has too much juice built in so I should do game by game.... the big variable is does SC have a chance?

Gonzaga would be -160 vs Oregon
and SC would be +130 vs. Oregon

UNC is -200 vs Oregon (but I'm sure you can all see that)

You can't lock in a lot without giving up all the upside so....

25* on NC -200. If NC wins you pick up 20*

if they lose, you now have 55 invested to get 425 so

Gonz would be -170 against Oregon let's say and you take gonz for 100*. If gonz wins you bet 45*. If Oregon wins you win 200*

If SC beats the Zags you are in an even better position and hedge SC at plus money

adjust accordingly but that's the basic idea

When was Oregon 85-1?

Apparently, at the time he placed the bet. Not too far fetched before they kicked it into gear. Heck they were 30-1 before the tourney

No way SC wins it all, hedge on the other teams

And how old are you??? 1983, NCState beat Phi Slama Jama. In 1985, Rollie pulled a rabbit out of his hat to beat a heavily favored John Thompson. In 1988, Danny Manning singly handed a heavily favored OU team a loss. Don't tell us it can't be done, I've watched it happen.

+1 -- good God it's happened in far more surprising situations than SC would be this year!

Look betting is by its very nature gambling. If your gonna pick a hedge, I am on betting against SC. We can all come back in a week and see who was right .

hope so... I'm letting it ride vs UNC I think... hedging is too expensive.... may take a small piece off like 50*ish win 25* or something
