C's series is worth a look depending on the line that they put up.

Bulls will probably fuck it up.

I knew they overachieved in the regular season, didn't think they would get spanked by Chicago but it isn't too surprising. Team has holes.

They did more with less all year, nothing embarrassing about that.

Dreams of getting Wizards at + money rd 2 are over though :(

Their problem isn't being timid or anything related to mindset. Maybe there is some pressing when things go wrong, but that's any team.

It's talent, they don't have a lot of it. Their best offensive player is 5'9.

And Crowder continuing to jack up 3's. I like him but he's not a scorer.

The Bulls aren't exactly loaded either. They have the best player on the floor but their depth is atrocious.

Him jacking 3's is a function of if IT isn't dropping 35 their offense just isn't that good. Everyone becomes worse when their role gets bigger than their game.

Smart has actually been jacking way more threes than you would want him to as well, although he has been hitting. It's just guys taking on outsized roles because of circumstance. That's basketball.

Yeah, I said in the Wizards thread I was thinking of fading C's rd 1 and was bearish on them in general but I just wasn't feeling the Bulls. Should've just taken them.

I didn't really expect them to take it to the C's like that, but I'm not surprised either.

What about when the 8th seeded Nuggets beat the #1 seeded Sonics? Sonics won 63 games that year.

I disagree about the mindset, maybe because they're feeling pressure or maybe it's because they're all trying to do too much

but when an NBA players drives, then leaves his feet, then tries to throw a cross court pass that defenders only need to catch to steal, they're playing scared and stupid

they have to play composed team basketball, and they're not

and that's not an excuse, it's the reason why they're being outplayed

they made Rondo look like a star tonight, passing to him like he was still wearing green

maybe they are the worst one seed ever, did they win the fewest games for a one seed?

C's only won 53 games

The Sonics didn't underachieve that year. They were the best team by far in the West. They just shit the bed against the Nuggets.

But the players who are making errors trying to create their own shot or create a shot for others really aren't good at doing it. Against playoff intensity/attention to detail, you're going to have problems when that happens.

You can call it scared, stupid or whatever but it mostly stems from talent deficiency at that aspect of the game. IT is really their only guy who can create offense consistently.

As far as Rondo. IT is 5'9, yeah maybe Rondo giving it to him is a surprise given how bad he has been the last few yrs but with increased gameplanning/strategy, teams working to expose IT's defense more isn't very surprising.

Some of it is unforced but it isn't like the Bulls don't seem like the more talented team.

To me the effort isn't there. It shows on defense and in their lack of rebounding. Yeah, rebounding is size, its also desire. They look distracted and uninterested at times.

They played so poorly last night. Way too many mistakes and giveaways. Rebounding has been horrible all year and the Bulls are killing them on the boards. I thought the C's would at least get through the first round. Ugly.

maybe IT's sister's tragic death adversely impacted their preparation and mindset, you have to be clicking on all cylinders at this time of year (especially for a team like the C's)

It isn't over yet, but going to be tough to overcome two losses at home.

Maybe after the funeral they will get focused and turn the tables....catch the Bulls asleep at the wheel like they have been.
