Honest question, who do you prefer they put there? They lost fowler and no one on the team currently can replace what fowler was in that spot
many opinion is they do it more so for other innings besides the first inning. Keeps a team from playing games late in games with pitchers at bottom of line ups. Also gives them a good bat of the 7th and or 8th guy gets on and pitcher bunts them over. Also you can't keep scwarber out of the lineup.
