LAS VEGAS (KABC) --
Police arrested a 27-year-old man in connection to the death of a father of five, who died from a single punch during a confrontation in the streets of Las Vegas.

James Beach, also known as James Michael Garcia, was arrested Sunday and is facing a murder charge in the death of 45-year-old La Puente resident Luis Campos.

Campos joined his three brothers in Sin City on April 30 for a bachelor party. He was set to be the best man in his brother's wedding.

Campos and his younger brother were in line for the Vanguard, a bar on Fremont Street, when they were approached by two men around 1:34 a.m. The attacker asked what Campos was looking at and punched him.

The punch was so severe it knocked Campos out and caused brain bleeding. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, but he never regained consciousness and died Thursday at a Las Vegas hospital.

The suspects fled and were captured on surveillance video down the street from the crime. There was no word on whether the second suspect has been found.

The close-knit family said they're planning a funeral all because of one man's unprovoked brutality.

"These guys knew what they were doing. They knew they were going to sucker punch him. They knew they weren't going to sit here and give him a fair break. It was the act of a coward - two cowards," Campos' brother Adam Garibay said.

saw the local vegas news on this guy. the dude that arrested is a convicted felon...served time for weapons charge stemming from an attempted murder charge. so, just a piece of shit human

very strange behavior...
Beach was released from state prison in September 2014 after served more than four years for pleading pleaded guilty to attempted murder and battery with a deadly weapon in a November 2008 shooting. A 19-year-old man was wounded in the heart and another man was wounded in the groin, according to court records.

Beach's sentence was two-to-10 years. He was not on probation when he was arrested Sunday.

I hope that is the guy who did it & they get his buddy too.

POS lowlife scum needs to pay...

Let's pump the brakes. There have been times where I've been out with friends and when one of them is drinking, they do something just ridiculous and I had no idea before they did it, they were going to do what they did.

Can't lump the two guys together unless it can be proven the friend was conspiring with his buddy to randomly attack the man standing in line that night.

You are right & i they even said they aren't pursuing the other guy any longer.

It's a tough call.

Who's to say the other guy wasn't going to throw a blow but his buddy beat him to it?

If he was silent or tried to talk his boy out of it, he should be considered innocent.

But, in my opinion, if witnesses say the other guy was also talking violently to the victim, he too should be held accountable even if he didn't throw the actual punch.

I don't agree. Say I'm arguing with a man on a sidewalk but it's not physical and my buddy comes from behind me and sucker punches the guy, I shouldn't go to jail for that.

If he killed a guy with 1 punch, that's really sad.

And what I mean is, sad how he wasted his talents. That's some serious KO power.

Pretty common with these kind of fights, mostly random on where the shot hits, from behind can easily compress skull.

Just depends on how local authorities perceive it i suppose.

Some might claim you to be an accomplice since you were acting violently also, even if only verbally...

Sorry but it doesn't take talent to lay a guy out with a sucker punch. What I understand by the term is an unexpected/undefended blow.

I bet guy who died started talking smack and started the fight

Shut it Juggalo. If someone sucker punches someone else from the back or side, it isn't a fight, it is an assault and battery.

Sucks for you that when your Raiders finally start to get good they say "Fuck you Oakland!!!"
