ESPN has canceled the radio show "Mike & Mike" after 17 years.

The network announced Tuesday that Mike Greenberg would be leaving the longtime morning radio show he co-hosts with Mike Golic to host a new morning TV show on ESPN TV that will premier Jan. 1. Golic will stay in the morning radio spot and will be joined by a new partner in the network's NFL host Trey Wingo. The radio show will be simulcast on television.

Greenberg and Golic have been teamed since 2000. The show will end later this year.

Greenberg says his "run with Golic has been an incredible experience," but he's looking forward to a new challenge.

The network also says Golic and Wingo have multiyear extensions to stay with ESPN.

If only they would cancel that hip hop 6PM sportscenter. How they allow two total buffoons have that prime spot is beyond me. Not that I watch it anyway but I won't for certain now. Also that Dan Retard show or whatever it is called with the old guy that sits in the middle needs to go. Give me PTI for 2 hours over those idiots.

They wonder why ratings drop and people don't watch. Get back to sports and reporting on it.

Plenty of other shows they need to cancel as well. How many shows did michael smith and jamelle Hill fail with? They have had at least two shows canceled and ESPN goes and puts them on at primetime SC 6 pm.

NO one is worse than michael smith and jamielle hill. Would rather watch sportsnation and lose brain cells than hear jamielle hill talk

I'd love to understand why ESPN thinks there is a market for a Mike Greenburg TV show.

I can't remember the last time I listed to Mike & Mike.

They aren't thinking about marketing anymore. Greenberg is a liberal and they want his views expressed. Brought to you by MSNBC haha.

mike and mike was pretty garbage
colin cowherd and bill simmons were the two they shouldn't have let get away

i think with all the downsizing, it's pretty clear to me espn doesn't have the money to continue paying premiums for all the sports
they might try to survive on nfl/nba only, but i just don't see how they will survive when their talent producing original content keeps leaving or getting fired.

I have stopped watching ESPN since the 2 week Lebron "decision" coverage on all their platforms.

The only thing I watched was The Sports Reporters and they cancelled it.

They are downsizing and don't have money because they are losing viewers every single day.

They just cut 100 people yet they can afford to pay MSNBC to advertise on their signature show Saturday night? How is that?

First, I would think MSNBC is paying them to advertise...otherwise the cuts should have really come out of the Sales Department because that would be some shitty marketing personnel. But regarding paying the premiums on sports...because the premiums are going up, I think they have to make the cuts to retain their bottom line.
