Fwiw my friend is a horsetrainer and veternarian. She thought Classic Empire looked lame on the Derby entrance.

I'll tell you the six horses I like (PP order) with a little "why" note.

#1 Multiplier
4 races. 4 improving Beyers. Only one of three horses to have run a 1:48 (or lower) mile and an eighth (Always Dreaming; Hence)

#3 Hence
Ran a 1:48 in the Sunland Derby while striding away from the field down the stretch. Threw a complete clunker in the Derby. Maybe he didn't like the slop. Another chance here.

#4 Always Dreaming
Completely legitimate horse to beat. Will be using him for sure but hoping that one of my longshots can beat him for the price. Two would be a very big payout. Three huge. I'm always dreaming.

#5 Classic Empire
He's been spotty since winning the BC Juvy in the fall as a 2 yo. Are the excuses enough or have other 3 year olds passed him?

#9 Lookin' at Lee
The buzz is that he had such an advantaged trip in the Derby that he can't repeat. I'm not buying. This is a solid horse who CAN repeat.

#10 Conquest Mo Money
This horse ran one of the "gamest" races I've ever seen in the Arkansas Derby when getting beat by Classic Empire in the Final two or three jumps. The race caller had him passed two or three times. He kept surging back. 1st or 2nd in all five starts. Must use.

I put $330.00 into tris on the Derby trying to knock down the Big One. Not to be. The payoffs won't be near as big today unless Always Dreaming runs off the board. Not expecting that to happen. So I'll figure my bets depending on how I'm holding come race time. Hence and Conquest Mo Money will figure prominently.

Beautiful day here north of Boston. Heading over to the Turf Club at Suffolk Downs in a few. Have fun and good luck.

Gravy, I don't bet a lot of horse races only the big ones. How are you putting your key trifecta in? Is the 1 horse the only one your putting in the first spot or are putting other ones also??
