The Seattle Seahawks haven't finished stocking their roster in preparation for the 2017 season. In fact, they're looking to bolster their backup quarterback position leading into the team's minicamp June 13-15. The most notable name expected to be in that group? Colin Kaepernick.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet #Seahawks are slated to work out reserve QBs soon & barring a change of plans, Colin Kaepernick is expected to be one of them, per sources.

The former 49ers passer and lightning rod of controversy this past season will get a workout with Seattle, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. This doesn't come as much of a surprise, considering previous reports have linked the two as a possible fit in 2017.

Kaepernick turned the country on its ear by kneeling during the national anthem before games this season, a protest against social injustice. He had a tumultuous season on the field as well, sharing time under center for the hapless 49ers, throwing 16 touchdown passes to just four interceptions, but completing just 59 percent of his throws.

The Seahawks, clearly not looking to challenge Russell Wilson at the starting position, must be intrigued by the athletic and experienced Kaepernick. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll recently said the team is going to be committed to the run game this season, one year after Wilson accumulated a career-high 546 pass attempts and 4,219 yards. His 92.6 rating, however, was the lowest of his career.
