Donald Trump's final stop before wrapping up his first overseas presidential trip was an alpha-male barnburner before an appreciative military crowd who hooted and hollered at his pledges to eradicate terrorism and reassert America's global muscle.
But first he had to wipe Melania's lipstick off his right cheek.
The first lady had planted a pair of kisses on him after introducing her famous husband in front of a giant U.S. flag backdrop at Naval Air Station Sigonella, just 50 miles from the resort town of Taormina that hosted Friday and Saturday's G7 summit.
'I've got to get the lipstick off. Is it off?' Trump asked after chants of 'USA! USA!' subsided.
The first lady connected with military spouses who endure lengthy deployments, thanking them for their silent service.
The president connected with their kids, singling out the base's 8th-graders who marched in his inauguration parade.

President Donald Trump smiles as he is introduced by his wife Melania to speak to U.S. military troops and their families at Naval Air Station Sigonella on Saturday in Sigonella, Italy

The presidential pair shared a kiss before Trump took the stage to deliver his America-centric speech

Before he began, the president joked about getting his wife's lipstick off his cheek. 'I've got to get the lipstick off. Is it off?' Trump asked, while the crowd chanted 'USA! USA!'

'You're going to have a safe future because of your parents and other great, great people in this room,' he said.
Trump boasted of his budget proposal's massive $54 billion enlargement of the Pentagon's spending power, calling it 'an historic investment in defense spending.
'Because we believe in – and you know this. What the expression?' he asked his uniformed audience. 'Peace through strength.'
'Peace through strength, right?' he repeated, focusing on a section of children.
'You'll understand that when you get a little bit older. Peace through strength.'
Saying his diplomacy tour 'hit a home run no matter where we are,' Trump focused most of his rhetorical firepower on the impact of his hardline anti-terrorism positions during a swing through the attack-riddled Middle East.

Trump's speech was brazen as he bragged about his budget proposal's massive $54 billion enlargement of the Pentagon's spending power, calling it 'an historic investment in defense spending'

He also connected with the kids in the crowd, singling out the base's 8th-graders who marched in his inauguration parade. 'You'll understand that when you get a little bit older. Peace through strength.'

'Terrorism is a threat, bad threat to all of humanity, and together we will overcome this threat. We will win,' a confident president boasted.
The final two stops on Trump's journey were for multinational summits – first a NATO meeting and then the G7 – the kind of staid, bureaucratic affairs known as inertial quicksand pits, not laboratories for action.
But earlier, in Saudi Arabia and Israel, he had the chance to argue for what he called 'a new partnership among nations devoted to the task of eradicating the terrorism that plagues our planet.'
This more aggressive approach to obliterating ISIS, al-Qaeda and their global affiliates is a 'common cause' that Trump hopes can also bridge an otherwise unfathomable chasm between the Arab world and Israel.
Trump was handed two horrific catalysts since he left Washington more than eight days ago.

Melania, who has been more vocal during this nine-day trip, ended by thanking the service men and women

During her speech, she said 'It is because of your selfless commitment that we enjoy the freedoms that we have today'

The two shared a loving glance when she was finished with her speech. Of course, Trump had the last word and declared: 'I don't think the United States could possibly have a better emissary'

First, the suicide-bombing of an Ariana Grande concert in the British city of Manchester. And then a machine-gun attack on a pair of buses carrying Coptic Christians to an Egyptian monastery to pray.
'The barbaric attack in Manchester and the massacre of innocenet young lives underscores the depths of the evil we face, and the urgent need for us to join forces to absolutely and totally defeat it,' Trump said Saturday.
'And just yesterday, Coptic Christians in Egypt were viciously gunned down in another vile terrorist attack, one that took the lives of beautiful Egyptian children and others.'
'These murderous attacks grieve our souls,' he said, mimicking language from a statement the White House released Friday.
'But they also steel – and I mean steel, like in "steel" – our resolve,' he added, clasping his hands together for emphasis.

Trump had a rocktar reception as he arrived to speak to U.S. military troops and their families at Naval Air Station

The president also greeted the people in the crowd after his speech. This reception hugely contrasts that of many Europeans who have protested his first visit to the continent as president

The US troops and their families even applauded as Trump bragged about NATO's budget increasing, since his rise to power

'Together civilized nations will crush the terrorists, block their funding, strip them of their territory and drive them out of this earth.'
Saturday's speech was equal parts victory lap and campaign bluster.
Military personnel heard a half-hour of loudspeaker music form the same playlist Trump's campaign team blares in hockey arenas before rallies, including hits from the Rolling Stones and Elton John.
That now-epic mixtape only game way to the theme music from the Harrison Ford drama 'Air Force One' when the president arrived – this time, touching down in the Marine One helicopter to deliver his 24-minute speech.
Trump addressed U.S. Navy personnel and civilian contractors the way he spoke to pipefitters and coal miners in forgotten corners of America for more than 15 months on his way to the White House, telling them they have value and are part of something transformative and quietly noble.
'The single greatest strength of our armed forces is you,' he said, pointing outward. 'You. All of you. The dedicated, really tough and really disciplined servicemen and women who bravely fight in our name.'

'You not only know the pain of sacrifice, but you also know the tremendous rewards of military service, of being part of something much larger than even yourselves. You know what it means to be part of a military team in which men and women are bound together in a sacred covenant of trust to serve together, to sacrifice together and to fight together.'
'And, by the way, to win together,' the president added, returning to another campaign buzzword.
'Because you're going to win. You're going to do a lot of winning. You're going to do a lot of winning.'
'And my pledge to you,' he said, 'is that we will always protect those who protect us.'
Trump drew unexpected applause when he bragged that the NATO alliance became suddenly flush with cash with his rise to power.

'Other member nations must pay more,' Trump told the cheering crowd. He is pictured with Melania heading back to Air Force One after his speech

The two have been holding hands more often during their public appearances, a huge contrast to how they comported themselves during their trip to the Middle East, when Melania apparently swatted her husband's hand away from hers

The president is now headed to Washington, DC, amid the crisis about his campaign's alleged ties with Russia

He said his trip to Brussels brought an agreement 'to improve the burden sharing among members of our alliance, and to further confront the shared threat of terrorism.'
'Other member nations must pay more,' he said, visible surprised by the cheering.
Trump said he had seen 'a big difference over the past year. Money is actually starting to pour into NATO from countries that would not be doing what they're doing not had I not been elected. I can tell you that.'
'Money is starting to pour in,' he declared. 'It's only fair to the United States. ... We're behind NATO all the way, but we want to be treated fairly.'
Melania Trump has been more visible on a daily basis during the past eight days than during her husband's previous 119 in office.
She spoke during her introduction of the women and children she had met at hospitals and in a femal-only call center workplace in Saudi Arabia.
But she ended by thanking the people who make up America's military backbone, in a heartfelt fashion uncommon to people of privilege.
'I want to take a moment to thank you all for the sacrifices you make on behalf of our country,' she said. 'It is because of your selfless commitment that we enjoy the freedoms that we have today.'
'And to the families who endure time apart, or constant moves to the base, your sacrifices do not go unnoticed or unappreciated.'
Trump said in response that despite an entire section of his government devoted to professional diplomacy, 'I don't think the United States could possibly have a better emissary.'

Good, you unwashed ingrate cvnt, you've already surrendered Europe's destiny. Now you can pay for your own defense!
(By "rely" she meant "suck off of" of course. Fuck her!)
isnt this a constant theme that has been going on for years: we give countries foreign aid and defense arms and knowledge and then they turn on us with unmitigated hate and disdain. at least trump is standing up and demanding that they pay their fair share and if they dont then fuck them

Point is idiot's like Merkel are 99% of the reason Europe is a disaster. Britain did the best possible thing by getting out of that shit show while they could and try to salvage their country. Germany is toast.

You only hear about the complaints. The silent majority of leaders and ordinary citizens of other nations probably recognize and appreciate America's benevolence. However we can't keep the spigot running permanently for those who have resources and don't use them. Mrs. Maytag keeps demonstrating she has no common sense.

If this idiot thinks he "hit a home run" than he must have been at a different G7 meeting than the other 6 leaders that were present. He is even more delusional than previously thought
