Growing up in South Florida, Jai Alai was the real deal. My parents would take me all the time and it was low stakes fun and the place was packed.

I went to Dania a few years ago. Maybe 5 rows were open and the place looked really sad. Understood the jai alai is just a "front" for poker and horse wagering

The buildng itself is really nice now . Dania is the only place left to see real Jai-Alai , not the scab games some other places are putting on to keep the slot license .

Go give it another shot if your ever in the area . The building is almost unrecognizable from the dump that it was, with the leaky ceilings, and broken seats .

I hope somehow the game survives, but I have my doubts

I was in the area a few months ago. Had dinner with family and friends on the water and then went to jaxsons for desert. I was thinking how cool jai alai used to be and was wondering if i could ever bring the kids for some fun

I love jai alai and still bet it almost every day at OTB. Unfortunately jai alai as a sport is like a fish out of water taking it's last few breaths.

[FONT=&quot]If not, a nice consolation.

I actually went to Dania Jai Alai Saturday nite. The place isnt like it used to be when the place would be PACKED with people and you had to pay to get in.

Now there are only 5 or 6 rows, 2 ticket takers, and just a slow/lukewarm atmosphere.

The game is still good though.

However they now have a casino and it is AWESOME!!!

Non smoking and the temperature was extremely comfortable. They had a band playing, people dancing, a nice buffet upstairs, and a bunch of tv's to watch sports (and jai alai).

They had cool looking slot machines plus a seperate room that had virtual blackjack, roulette, craps, and baccarat. A really nice place thats 5 min from the fort lauderdale airport.

If sports betting ever gets approved, this would be a really cool place to hang out at to gamble and wager on sports!!

I used to love the CT frontons, they were hip and happening until the casinos opened.

The last time I went to one, some 23 or so years ago, it was depressing. Only bums were there, no large money pools, some races with no show or place tickets purchased, $ 80 trifecta pool..............

didn't stay long, left bummed and never went back
