Should we be surprised...........

President Trump's charity foundation funneled $100,000 in donations meant for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital into revenue for the Trump Organization by using his son's charity, Forbes reported Tuesday.

For 10 years Eric Trump hosted an annual golf tournament which raised millions of dollars in donations for the hospital. According to the Forbes report, $100,000 of the donations was funneled through the Eric Trump Foundation back into Trump's golf courses for expenses incurred during the tournaments, despite donors being told that all their money would be used for charity.

In addition, more than $500,000 of donors' money over 10 years was re-donated to other charities, including some that were connected to Trump family members. At least four of those organizations also used Trump golf courses for charity tournaments.

According to the report, President Trump himself gave the order for the Trump Organization to begin billing the Eric Trump Foundation for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

If the report is true, the practices would violate both New York state law and federal law on self-dealing and misleading donors. To date, Eric Trump has raised more than $11 million for St. Jude's hospital.

In December, President Trump announced plans to dissolve his charitable foundation in order to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest. But New York's attorney general said that was impossible until a criminal probe of the charity was completed. "The Trump Foundation is still under investigation by this office and cannot legally dissolve until that investigation is complete," Amy Spitalnick, a spokeswoman for Schneiderman, said in a statement to The Hill in December.

Haha, like Trump needs 100k

It's funny how liberals worry so much about billionaires going into politics, but don't twice about people who only became extremely wealthy after getting into politics

Like everything else that matters, they have it all ass backwards

Once again you completely miss the point. Misleading donors is against the law, now matter the amount or who you are. It is yet another example of the unscrupulous practices from the Drumph's.

Since you claimed more than once in here that you are a moderate, and criticize the left as much as the right, I'm sure I can find numerous posts about you criticizing the Clinton Foundation for it's massive fraud.

Either that, or you are a fucking liar.

actually, you miss the point because you don't see the reason for my sarcasm, I doubt they did anything wrong because they don't need to do anything wrong

with all the fake news coming from the left, and it's unprecedented, I doubt any wrong doing occurred. And if 100k was disbursed, there can be legitimate reasons like repayment of a loan and / or reimbursement for expenses incurred

Now tell us how taking millions of dollars from foreign governments when you're Secretary of the State can ever be justified. Feel free to use your imagination, I'll take any plausible explanation

Does this genius know that when you send money to charities they have this thing called "overhead"?

@)

WTF.

By the way, the Red Cross had a little dustup over this very topic.

Note, nobody went to jail despite this "being against the law"

I just read the article, nothing wrong there really and 100k over 10 years is absolutely chump change. Expenses are incurred, which was one of the things I speculated it might be in post # 10

Furthermore, I couldn't care less about what charity the funds went to, as long as it went to qualified organizations and "charitable donations" didn't include family and friends on the payroll because they provide charitable services.

At best, this is another great example of lefties like BZ trying to make something out of nothing, and that's if the story is true and accurate. Based on their recent track record, being true and accurate is highly improbable.

The Donald J. Trump Foundation gave away $10.9 million from 2001 to 2014, taking a scattershot approach to philanthropy with donations to more than 400 different charities, according to a Forbes analysis of 14 years of IRS documents. Among the notable recipients: the William J. Clinton Foundation, a state branch of the ACLU and a nonprofit run by the New York Times, which Trump routinely criticizes on Twitter. Only $2.8 million of that money came from Trump himself.

The biggest single beneficiary was the Police Athletic League, a New York City charity that works with local police officers to provide summer camps, universal pre-K programs and after-school activities for children. According to the charity’s website, Trump serves on its board of directors alongside fellow billionaire investor Ron Perelman and New York supermarket magnate John Catsimatidis. It is the only charity that got a donation from the Trump Foundation every single year from 2001-2014, ultimately receiving $832,500, 8% of the foundation's total gifts during the 14-year stretch.

An estimated 36% of the foundation’s money went to roughly 100 organizations promoting healthcare, the Forbes examination revealed. The Trump Foundation gave more than $465,000 to both the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Operation Smile, which offers free surgeries to children born with cleft palates in developing countries. The foundation gave at least $326,000 to New York Presbyterian Hospital and $250,750 to its sister institution, the Hospital for Special Surgery, which is also based in New York City.

So, why would anyone think all donations to the Trump Foundation go to any one specific cause?

And how would anyone know where the funds from any particular fundraiser really went?

The website is very clear about it's charitable causes

Digging deeper, I see the OP is getting his facts all tangled, he's repeatedly saying "President Trump" who started the Trump Foundation, but St Jude's was the Eric Trump Foundation.

Eric Trump spoke out against Democrats and critics of his family in the media while talking to Sean Hannity on Fox News Tuesday. He vaguely referred to a damaging report published Tuesday accusing him of funneling money away from a golf charity he’s run to benefit children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
“You know I’ve never seen hatred like this,” Trump, 33, told Hannity. “To me, they’re not even people.
“It’s so so sad, morality’s just gone,” he continued, “Morals have flown out the window. We deserve so much better than this as a country. And it’s so sad. You see the Democratic party, they’re imploding. They’re imploding.
“They have no message. You see the head of the DNC who’s a total whack job. There’s no leadership there,” Trump said. “They have no message, so what do they try to do? They try an obstruct a great man, they try an obstruct his family. They come after us viciously, and it’s truly truly horrible.”
“Eric, I have to tell you something,” Hannity responded. “I actually would use the term, with Kathy Griffin, and a CNN anchor calling your father a piece of shhh-alright. A conspiracy theory that every intelligence office and top Democrats have all said there’s no evidence of. And thousands of hours of coverage. And they’ve gone after your 11-year-old brother, they’ve gone after your soon-to-be-born-child, they’ve gone after you.”
“Look at that POS comment that you made,” Trump responded, “all right, somebody on CNN, an anchor on CNN called my father on the show a piece of … you might be an opinionated person, but you don’t use profanities, you’re not a child, when it comes to calling people names.”
Trump referred to a tweet by CNN host Reza Aslan who called the president a “piece of s**t,” but it wasn’t during his show, “Believer.”
“I mean I got attacked today,” he said. “I raised $16.3 million for St. Jude’s [Children’s Research Hospital], $16.3, I’ve dedicated my — I started when I was 21, I raised $16.3 million for the greatest hospital in the world, that’s St. Jude. And I get attacked for it. Barron gets attacked. People come out there and look at my wife, ‘well I hope she, y’know, I hope the kid is aborted because God forbid there’s another Trump in the world.’ I mean, the manners, the the lack of morals in society is awful.

And while donors to the Eric Trump Foundation were told their money was going to help sick kids, more than $500,000 was re-donated to other charities, many of which were connected to Trump family members or interests, including at least four groups that subsequently paid to hold golf tournaments at Trump courses.

------------------------------------------

Oh lookie here, 16.3 million raised and a whopping 500k went to other charities

Yep, totaling misleading

Democrats and liberals are nauseating, and their idiocy, ignorance and pure hatred is not going to win back any Trump supporters, it will probably lose them even more working class and taxpaying votes

I wonder why the hit piece didn't cite the most important variable when measuring any charitable organization, what % or donations went to charitable causes? It's obvious that fact didn't serve their agenda, so they leave it out

If that was true all politicians would be incarcerated.
