MLB | Rockies vs Giants
Play on: Rockies +127 at 5Dimes

Rockies +125

This play just missed out on our premium card. The Colorado Rockies and the San Francisco Giants face off on Monday night, and as underdogs the Rockies have a ton of value. On the mound for the Giants is Jeff Samardzija who comes into this game with a 2-9 record and an ERA of 4.74.

In his last couple starts he has really struggled. In those three starts he has given up 14 runs. One of those starts was against this Rockies team in which he gave up eight earned runs. Some trends to note. Rockies are 7-1 in Marquezs last 8 starts. Giants are 1-7 in Samardzijas last 8 home starts vs. a team with a winning record.

I think that the Rockies will have no issues getting to him early and often.

Back Colorado.

Good Luck, Razor Ray.

Soccer | Molde vs Stromsgodset
Play on: OVER 2½ -150

The odds are not great on this but everything points to over 2.5 goals and the opportunity to make a profit was too tempting to pass on.

Five of Molde last six games have had least three goals in them and three of Stromgodset last five league games have had at least three goals in them.

The last two Stromgodset home games have both been overs and three of Molde last four away games have had at least three goals in them.

Add to that the fact that five of the last eight meetings between these two have had at least three goals in the games and you start to see a pattern developing.

While past results do not guarantee future results they are an indication and the current form of these two teams is to have goals in their games, the head to heads favour goals and I can see no evidence why the goals trend will not continue.

MLB | Yankees vs White Sox
Play on: White Sox +144 at 5Dimes

NYY/ChiSox 8:10: Both teams are struggling but I like the White Sox at home here. Sox are sizzling against lefties --driving in nearly 6 RPG on a near .300 BA. Montgomery is ripe for the taking. Although he's pitched well, he hasn't gone to 6 innings over his last few starts. The Yankees have struggled on the recent road and won't have an easy time here. Sox have split the last 6 games in this series; moreover, NY has lost 11 of the last 16 in Chicago. We'll look for Holmberg, who is comfortable at home at night, to deliver.

MLB | Rangers vs Indians
Play on: Indians -160 at betonline

Play - Cleveland Indians w/Carrasco (Game 958).

Edges - Indians: Carrasco 8-1 team starts at night this season, and 6-1 last seven team starts during June… Rangers: Hamels 1-4 career team starts versus the Tribe, including 0-2 here. With Texas just 4-8 in its last eight games in this park, we recommend a 1* play on Cleveland. Thank you and good luck as always.

MLB | Rangers vs Indians
Play on: Indians -1½ +120 at 5Dimes

I like the Indians in this match-up against the Rangers. Carrasco this year is 8-3 with a 2.99 ERA. In his last 3 starts he is 3-0 with a 1.53 ERA. Hamels hasn't pitched a whole lot this year, since this is the longest time he spent on the DL. The Rangers are 1-4 in their last 5 road games against a team that has a losing home record. The Indians are 8-1 in their last 9 games when Carrasco takes the mound.

MLB | LAA vs LAD
Play on: OVER 9 -110

1* Bonus Play over Angels/Dodgers. Recent form displayed by these starting pitchers suggests we’ll have a bit of a “slug-fest” on our hands in this one. Ricky Nolasco (2-9, 5.23 ERA) has been a complete train-wreck this year and he most recently gave up five runs off seven hits with five walks over five innings in an 8-4 loss to New York on Wednesday. Nolasco hasn’t won a game since April and has posted a 6.28 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in that span (he’s just 1-5 with a 4.56 ERA on the road). Rich Hill (4-3, 4.73) has been hit-or-miss of late and while he does come in off a decent outing against the Mets on Wednesday, giving up one run with three walks over five innings, previous to that he’d been rocked for seven runs over four innings in a loss to the Indians (Hill owns a pedestrian 4.09 ERA at home as well). Consider the over in this one.

MLB Daily Line Drive: Monday's Picks, Betting Odds and Analysis

Double-Play Picks

Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants (-130, 7.5)

As the Rockies open a three-game series in San Francisco against the Giants we must admit...we're a little bit stumped by the moneyline for this one. Why in the hell are the Giants favored over the Rockies tonight?

The Rockies are a terrific road bet in 2017 at 25-16. Sure, they are coming off getting swept in their three-game series in Los Angeles against the Dodgers, but there is no shame in getting swept by a very good Dodgers team and that should be more motivation for them to come out on fire against the pathetic Giants.

The Giants are a mess right now. They were just swept at home by the New York Mets, they've lost 12 of their last 13 games overall, they've lost 10 of their last 11 games at AT&T Park, and they are sending Jeff Samardzija to the mound tonight.

The Giants have lost five of Samardzija's last six starts and they have already lost three of his starts against the Rockies this season. In his previous three starts against Colorado in 2017, Samardzija owns an ERA of 9.33 and a WHIP of 1.64.

Rockies' starting pitcher German Marquez certainly isn't the reason for the strange line. The Rockies have won seven of his last eight starts and over his last three outings he owns a team win/loss record of 3-0, a 1.93 ERA, and a WHIP of 1.14.

Oh yeah - the Rockies have won nine consecutive meetings with the Giants.

Pick: Rockies +120

Los Angeles Angels at Los Angeles Dodgers (-225, 9)

The "Battle of Los Angeles" opens Monday night with the Dodgers hosting the Angels for the first of two games at Dodger Stadium, before the series shifts to Anaheim for two games.

Rich Hill gets the ball for the home team tonight and he's been his usual self thus far in 2017 at 4-3, team win/loss record of 5-4, 4.72 ERA (4.09 at home), and a few too many walks. With blister issues being a big problem for Hill, you can pretty much pencil him in for five innings and around two earned runs. With the National League's best bullpen backing him up, his short outings are not a concern.

Ricky Nolasco will get the ball for the Angels tonight and he's the fun one to talk about in this matchup.
Ricky...Ricky...Ricky...what are we going to do with you? Fading definitely seems like the best course of action.

Nolasco owns a team win/loss of 3-12 this season, including team losses in 10 consecutive starts! He is 0-3 in his last three starts with an ERA of 5.89, WHIP of 1.75, and an opponent's on base percentage of .398.

Note: The Dodgers are 42-13 when Cody Bellinger is in the starting lineup. They should probably just keep him in the starting lineup, he'll probably hit a couple of home runs.

Second Note: The Dodgers have won 16 of their last 17 games overall. They have won 10 in a row and have covered -1.5 in nine of those wins.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-110)

Yesterday's Picks: 0-2
Season To Date: 74-62-7

Streaking and Slumping Starting Pitchers

Streaking: Carlos Carrasco, Cleveland Indians (8-3, 2.99, $518)

Dropping Carlos Carrasco into our Streaking Starting Pitchers section is an automatic at this point every time he's scheduled to start.

The Indians have won eight of his last nine outings and over his last three he's 3-0, 1.53 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and he has 21 strikeouts to go along with only four walks.

Carrasco and the Indians are -170 at home against returning Cole Hamels and the Texas Rangers.

Slumping: Ricky Nolasco, Los Angeles Angels (2-9, 5.23, $-912)

We don't usually like to feature a starting pitcher in the Streaking and Slumping Starting Pitchers section if they've already been discussed in the above Double-Play Picks section. However, when you've been as bad as Ricky Nolasco you certainly deserve a double shot.

As stated above, Nolasco is 0-3 in his last three starts with an ERA of 5.89, WHIP of 1.75, and an opponent's on base percentage of .398. The Angels have lost his last 10 outings and for the season he ranks third from the bottom (253rd overall) in Starting Pitcher Betting Money Earnings at $-912.

Nolasco and the Angels are in tough against the Dodgers and can be had at +180.

Monday's Top Trends

* The St. Louis Cardinals are 10-1 in Michael Wacha's last 11 starts vs. Cincinnati. -155 today vs. Reds.
* Under is 8-1 in the Chicago Cubs' last 9 overall. Cubs/Nationals Total: 9.5.
* Under is 10-1-1 in Jose Berrios' last 12 starts overall. Twins/Red Sox Total: 8.5.
* The Los Angeles Dodgers are 16-1 in their last 17 games overall. -225 today vs. Angels.

Weather To Keep An Eye On

The only precipitation to worry about in Monday's MLB forecast is in Cleveland where the Indians are schedule to host the Texas Rangers. There is a 35-50 percent chance of rain throughout the evening and there could be some thunderstorms involved in the equation.

There are notable hitter's winds in the forecast for four games today:

* Rangers at Indians (Total: 9) - 13-16 mile per hour wind blowing out to right field.
* Twins at Red Sox (Total: 8.5) - 10 mile per hour wind blowing out to right field.
* Yankees at White Sox (Total: 10.5) - 10-15 mile per hour wind blowing out to right field.
* Rockies at Giants (Total: 7.5) - 14-17 mile per hour wind blowing out to center field.

My Bonus Play for Monday is on the San Francisco Giants over the Colorado Rockies.

Quite frankly, I'm not sure what has been uglier, the way the Giants have been losing all season, or the way the Rockies have played the past week. Both are ugly, but I'm going to put my money on the home team in this one, as the Rockies continue this dreadful road trip after a rough weekend in Los Angeles.

Less than one week ago, Colorado was sitting atop the National League West. Now it is in third place, 4 1/2 games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The good news for them is the San Diego Padres are 19 1/2 games back of L.A. The bad news is the Giants, who are 24 1/2 games back of the Dodgers, are looking for a way to catch fire.

Playing a downtrodden team like Colorado is the way.

During a five-game skid that began in Denver, the Rockies have been outscored 48-15. And it doesn't get any better, as they play three here and then head to Phoenix for three with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

This is Colorado's seventh game in as many days, and it will be mentally and physically drained.

Take Frisco and don't list pitchers.

Monday comp play is the Dodgers to open their Freeway Series with the Angels with a 2 runs or more win.

The Angels upset the Red Sox yesterday, but that game was in Boston. Taking into account the long flight back, and the fact the Halos will now have to deal with the hottest team in baseball bar-none, I don't see it ending well in the series opener for Mike Scioscia's club.

The Dodgers are riding a 10-game winning streak, and they have won 16 of their last 17 games overall!

Rich Hill may not be having the best of seasons at just 4-3 with an ERA of 4.72, but that sure looks better than his counterpart Ricky Nolasco's numbers, as Nolasco stands at 2-9 with an over 5 season ERA. Nolasco has not won since April 27th, and he sure as hell is not going to win tonight.

Not much to think about in this one. You ride the Dodgers until they get cooled off, and that will not happen tonight.

Dodgers on the Run Line.

My free winner for Monday is on the Over in the Texas Rangers-Cleveland Indians showdown at Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland.

IMPORTANT: As you know every single Run Line play and Total wager will automatically list the scheduled starting pitchers at the time of the wager, and I want you to be sure the following pitchers are the registered starters on your ticket when making your wager: Cole Hamels and Carlos Carrasco. If one or both of these pitchers is not going, this is a no-play.

Texas arrives in Cleveland after a confidence-building win over the New York Yankees as a +230 underdog. After opening a 7-0 lead, the Rangers hung on for a 7-6 win, and will now look to attack Indians starter Carrasco, who may be 3-0 with a 1.53 ERA in his last three starts, but struggles against the Rangers.

The right-hander is 2-3 with a 5.35 ERA in his career against Texas, which has been desperate for better hitting on the road.

Meanwhile, the Indians hand the ball to Hamels, who toes the slab after a stint on the disabled list, and will be pitching for the first time since April 26. Hamels, who has been out with a strained right oblique, is 1-2 with a 4.94 ERA in five career starts versus the Indians, who rank 10th in the league with a .275 batting average in June.

This one soars tonight.

10* FREE MLB PICK (Nationals -146)

Washignton is worth a look here against the Cubs. This will be the Nationals first crack at the defending champs this season and while Chicago isn't playing like a World Series contender so far, that's not to keep Washington from treating this any different than they would. I look for the Nationals to be 100% locked in and they are catching the Cubs at the right time. Chicago had to travel right after their 2-4 loss to Miami yesterday and are at a big disadvantage here with the starting pitching matchup. Cubs send out Eddie Butler against Gio Gonzalez. Butler pitched well in his last start, but thatwas against the Padres. He's got a 4.19 ERA in 8 starts and 5.62 ERA in 3 outings on the road. Gonzalez has a sensatinal 2.96 ERA in 15 starts with a 1.66 ERA in 7 home starts. Give me the Nationals -146!
