With the NBA openly in favor of legalized sports betting nationwide, it's a little surprising that the NFL & NHL beat them to the punch placing teams in Las Vegas.

It's probably been on commisioner Adam Silver's mind & only a matter of time now before the NBA adds a team there thru Expansion or relocation.

Can we come up with or predict the team's name before it happens?

The NBA All Star game that was hosted in 2007 was a fiasco on many fronts, realize it was a one shot deal but Im confident the thought for awhile was the city wanted to distance themselves the league in some respects. Having said that the NBA Summer League has been very successful for many years.

I kinda like Nighthawks for a team name:think2:

Depends on how the NHL franchise starts out....

I can see a team in Vegas five years down the road...

vegas sinners

Such a good name and advertises the city.

The nba allstar game weekend was the worst weekend ever foe us locals. Crime spike, server and dealer abuse, crappy tipping etc eyc ...some people quit the service industry and never came back.

But as mentioned above the summer leagues have run well. I dont see vegas capable of supporting a pro hockey , pro football and pro basketball team

The Vegas NBA All star was so awful. It could have been a great thing but too many bad fans and "associates" of the players ruined it for everyone. Vegas seems better w/o any pro sports teams

Vegas "The NFL team flopped... NBA, you want some??"

Rather a long name.... but kind of catchy and balls on accurate!

I dunno mark...... It adds yet another dimension for everyone booking their trip to Vegas in catching a game while they're there...

On paper, yes I agree. It is a wonderful idea and it would be great if it works out. But after the NBA All-star nightmare it seems NBA and NFL, especially the Raiders, could be bad for Vegas. And I am a Raiders fan. Vegas is closer to me than Oakland and I would rather go watch a game in Vegas than the Bay Area. Just hoping it doesn't show flashes of the NBA All star weekend again.

jesus, why does this NOT suprise me,,,

I do agree with the statement, that "Vegas just doesnt work with pro teams"

I hate to compare it this way,,,, but it does make a ton of sense,,, for the same reasons,,, in 2017,, the MEDIA has said its ok to LOSE ALL DECORUM for president trump,,, they have,,, so its a disgusting mess created by dems, and media,,

I can see the exact same shit going down,,, Vegas,,, anything fkng goes, and it NEVER SLEEPS,, were gonna hear years into this,,, blah blah,, im a victim,,, blah blah,,, whores,,, coke,,, gambling,,, my posse,,, blah blah,,,

in NY and LA and MIAMI and ATL,,, those markets
are huge,,, and one can say,,, hey,,, its the same there as in vegas,, BUT ITS NOT,,, 99% of the people in those citys have jobs and work the next day,,, where in vegas,, 90% of the people there ar there to party!! and get crazy,, its a TOTALLY DIF SOCIAL MINDSET.

but hey,,, so far the college has cleaned up its act,,, maybe the pros can too,,??

this would be another reason to avoid Vegas imo...enough riff raff in that town without the NBA element contributing to it

the NBA tv money is so good that it is difficult to believe that the existing teams would
want to dilute their share with an expansion team. vegas's best shot is with a
franchise relocating and for right now that is unlikely.

If the raiders kill it then someone in the NBA will relocate to vegas. There is a LOT of money in vegas that will make it more appealing.

I always thought The Kings were a logical choice back in the day.

But new owners and arena, that ship has sailed.
