Might be time to buy Litecoin

I bought some last week at 39. It crossed 50 today on higher than average volume. It is sweet, the transactions confirm in 3 minutes. The guy that designed it loves Bitcoin, and hopes that it becomes the silver to Bitcoin's gold, and is used for smaller transactions with smaller fees. There are 4 times as many coins as Bitcoin, so obviously it will never price at Bitcoin's level. But there is a ton of upside if it catches on like Ethereum has. Also, if the Bitcoin scaling issue isn't solved by Aug 1, Litecoin will go up, because like I said, there are currently no scaling issues and the transactions confirm almost immediately.

Yep, it's time to jump on, boys. Broke all time highs on huge volume and still going.

It's easy to exchange Bitcoin directly for Litecoin, Ethereum, or any other currency you want to buy. Just go to shapeshift.io and it's a 2% conversion fee, which isn't bad at all. Transactions are sent as soon as your sending transaction is confirmed, which is 5-10 minutes if you specify Bitcoin fees of $2-$3.

You can but Litecoin directly at Coinbase. I'm buying Lisk and holding onto it.

It's okay to buy there, as long as you transfer out immediately to your own wallet. Never leave coins on an exchange. Always control your own private keys.

Best thing is to get a Trezor or a Ledger Nano S and keep all your coins of every currency on your hardware wallet. But until you have your device, for litecoin, just go to Liteaddress.org. Then disconnect your wifi and create a random address by punching a bunch of keys or moving your mouse. Then once the address is established, transfer your litecoins to it, and print out the paper wallet while still being disconnected from the internet. That will keep your coins safe as long as you don't lose the paper wallet. Maybe laminate it. But the Trezor is awesome, and so is the Ledger Nano S. Buy one or both.

You could also download the Loaf Wallet app onto your phone to make the initial purchase. It's the same company as Bread Wallet for Bitcoin. But for long term storage, store them offline on a paper wallet or a hardware wallet.

Go to the blockchain. Transactions confirm in 5 minutes or less. Or if you send from loaf wallet, it will show you confirmations.

It would appear to me that Litecoin is consolidating to form a floor price of $50 and it's up from here. Regardless, I'm holding and won't trade it. I still think Bitcoin is king and will remain king, but I think Litecoin is solid and will have a place. I love the fact that it has an almost identical mission as Bitcoin and is intended to co-exist with it and be used for smaller transactions and smaller fees. I think that in the next few years, it could appreciate more than Bitcoin in terms of percentage gains, and will someday approach being 1/4 the price of Bitcoin. I could be wrong, and I don't have too much risk. But I'm a gambler, and what would life be like if you didn't take risks?

Dash seems to be a buy right now to make a nice chunk and dump later. But I'm having trouble buying it, because I don't believe in the coin. I think the Dash believers are just a bunch of shills and Dash wants to compete with Bitcoin and not be a compliment to Bitcoin. Good luck with that. But I may pull the trigger and dump later.
