When you have one team that has almost a 70% chance of winning it all that's not good for the league.

I challenge anyone to find any other time in the history of team sports where any team was -300 or more before the season started.
I bet this the first time in history that any team was that big of a fav in any sport to win it all.

Has even the UCONN women's basketball team been that much chalk before a season started?

Never for any of the pro leagues. Uconn women were like -500 last year, I believe.

Is this a serious question?

Bayern Munchen have won the Bundesliga five years in a row. They are currently -600 to make it six.

Last year, Paris Saint-Germain were -900 favorites to win Ligue 1 for a fifth straight time, but Monaco pulled the upset.

Surprisingly, Juventus are only -170 to make it seven straight Serie A titles in a row.

Happens all the time in European football.

What I find interesting is that ESPN and TNT way overpaid for NBA TV rights. And the league agreement requires that 51% of revenue be spent on players. So, you have all these teams throwing around money on players that just aren't that good.

What's going to happen when ESPN can't afford to re-up the TV contract at a higher price, and there isn't the revenue to pay the players what they have become accustomed to? A strike or a lockout?

Watch for Twitter, Facebook and/or Amazon to step up with very generous offers next time the contract is open for bidding

There is no way the NBA would agree to have it's biggest games of the week shown online, versus network or cable television.

I think that historically, dynasties have been good for their sport's ratings or popularity. Fans pay attention to see if they can be beaten.

That being said, the NBA is a garbage product and I hope it craters ASAP.

You can't tell me there isn't value in Cleveland. West got stronger. Boston still will lose to Lebron again. And who knows what they do for trades because you know they are going to try to be aggressive. Okc, houston both can give golden st a run for their money. I give okc a lean over houston just because okc will play for blood to win that shit vs golden st.

Not now. But over the next six years, industry analysts forecast upwards of 15-20million people disconnecting cable and using web based portals for watching all forms of television, including sports.

Twitter already has an extended deal with the NFL

Spurs still better than the Rockets or Thunder.

All it takes is one injury to one of the big four and they are still good but not great. Laying -300 is insane to me. Hell you may be able to get -300 if they play Cleveland again in the finals.

Even without Durant, arguably there best player, they broke the record for wins in a season and came one game short of the title. I think thats still a pretty great team.
