Hey LT. Good call on race 9. Do you usually post picks for the Spa or Del Mar? Look forward to your plays if you do.

Jack I don't usually play those tourist traps but this year I'm meeting a group of Sartin members at the Spa so I most likely will play some days to get the lay of the track.

OK. The reason I asked was that I did not see you post any Belmont or Santa Anita Picks.(I think you posted GP though) Thought maybe you preferred the more under the radar tracks. Anyway GL this year at Saratoga.

Jack I do favor the tracks where I get the most non mdn races for 3& up on the dirt. Nyra tracks card a lot of mdn and turf races. I never play the Cali trks except for the BC.

OK. Thx for the explanation. NYRA does card a lot of maiden/turf no doubt. I guess play to your strengths. Smart handicapping.

Record keeping shows me that when I play mdn and turf races my win % goes down about 15%. I still play some of them especially at Parx. Everyone should know what type pf races they do well in and what their win% and roi is. By reducing play on races you don't fair well in both will go up. Keep working on your weak spots to try and improve.

Interesting. Good to know where your strengths and weaknesses lie. You have been studying this game a lot longer than me. I know I look for certain patterns and depend heavily on pace figures. However, I really do not have a strong feeling on what kind of races are my strengths.

I have been checking out the Pace site. Those Sartin methods seem real complicated. Over my head but an interesting read. Thx again.

Sartin is not as hard as it was when I started in 1990 however it does take work. The RDSS program is as close to a black box as you can get but not there. Wnen you make your bets keep a record of what the race was ie dirt sprint or route, turf race sp /rt, mdn and age ie 3&up,straight 2 or 3 yr old races. It doesn't take that long to get a handle on you strengths even for weekend warriors. As they say pace makes the race.
