Jack if it wasn't the fact that I'm meeting people up there this yr I wouldn't even be looking at this joint.

Ok. I assume for the reason for that is you do not like the amount of MDN and Turf races that are carded?

You are correct Jack. Look at the 8th today they call it a G3 when it's really a glorified alw race with 2/3s of the field coming off of a mdn win. And for more fun only 1 horse has run 6f to date. Wonderful race for a gambler but not for an investor.:>(

OK LT. Checked out race 8. See what you mean. I am more of a recreational player. If you are an investor it's imperative you put the odds in your favor whenever possible. I usually play Derby Wars or Horse tourneys. And sometimes offshore mutual as I can not use ADW's in my state.

Not only odds but you have to avoid races with unknown factors to be successful. Any race with more then 1 unknown factor is a pass for me. :toast:

Yeah you are a disciplined player. That is one factor I would think is very important if an investor/professional.

Discipline is important to all who wager. Even weekend warriors can improve their lot by being disciplined. Record keeping is also essential to consistent winning. You need to know what type running style is winning at all distances and surfaces at your track. What is the minimum 3rd fraction needed to win at each distance and surface. Sounds difficult but it's not really. If you can't keep it daily refer to the results charts for last several days and you can get enough info to make better wagering decisions. Some info is better then none.

One more thing LT. I am more disciplined now than I was. Still will put some action wagers in, but at a greatly reduced roll. Still have a ways to go to get in your league though.

Jack every including me will make a recreational bet here and there. Just do as your doing and don't make it a major bet. Heck some days are downright awful as far as finding good bets so taking a stab is understandbale.
