He voted against the repeal of and extremely partisan bill because the efforts to change the partisan bill are too partisan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You just can't make up the stupidity and the idiocy of those who dwell in the beltway fog, that stench is beginning to inflict the rest of the country

Maverick first-- John McCain does not serve the American people. John McCain serves the Beltway establishment

It's John McCain's America, so Washington is thrilled and you're screwed

I meant what I said last week about praying for John McCain to beat his cancer. I still do.

I also mean this: John McCain is a traitor to everything he has fooled people for years into thinking he stands for. John McCain is not for free markets. John McCain is not for individual freedom. John McCain is not for solving problems.

McCain took to the Senate floor last night to cast his vote— “Watch the show.” He knew exactly what he was doing

John McCain is for one thing and one thing only, and that’s pleasing the Beltway establishment and the D.C. press corps so it will shower praise on him in return.

Reportedly before McCain took to the Senate floor last night to cast his vote killing even the most limited repeal of ObamaCare, he told reports from Politico, “Watch the show.” He knew exactly what he was doing.

With a great sense of drama, McCain intended to take to the floor and make people gasp as their jaws dropped. He knew the Democrats would be jubilant while Republicans would be crestfallen. And he intended to make all of it happen with tremendous fanfare that would make him the man of the hour.

It is what John McCain does. It is what he has done for a very long time. Back in the 1980s when McCain was first a relative newbie in the House, less than a decade after the end of his captivity in Vietnam, he seemed to be a rising conservative star. He was strong on national defense and drew enthusiasm from conservatives for his seemingly earnest expression of conservative principles.

He loved fawning media attention

I don’t know if it was a con then. Maybe McCain believed these things before he got co-opted by Washington. But what he really wanted more than anything else was to be accepted and praised by the beautiful people in the capital. He loved fawning media attention. He loved being seen as a “patriot” more so than as a partisan, and he knew that to get that praise he had to tact left and sabotage Republican efforts to rein in spending, unshackle markets and stop confiscating money people had earned and should be allowed to keep.

McCain’s decision to cast the deciding vote saving ObamaCare is the perfect bitter conclusion to this wasted career. Having voted for repeal when it didn’t matter, because he knew Barack Obama would veto it, McCain now saves the day for the big-government left and can look forward to weeks of his favorite thing in the world – glowing headlines and tributes to his career as a “bipartisan” man of principle.

What rot. Official Washington loves this guy because he continually protects its way of life. The same John McCain who saved ObamaCare is the one who thinks it would be an absolute travesty for the Senate to get rid of the filibuster for legislation. That makes the Republican majority completely worthless, incapable of passing anything whatsoever without Democratic support that McCain knows will never come.

That’s exactly why he does it. He cloaks it in concern for the traditions of the chamber, but that’s garbage. The Senate is the roadblock that prevents America from solving its problems, and McCain wants to make sure that never changes. Because his doting fans in Washington don’t want those problems solved, and he is their hero.

John McCain does not serve the American people. John McCain serves the Beltway establishment.

A long time ago John McCain showed courage in surviving captivity at the hands of brutal enemies. That can never be taken away from him, and I won’t try. But John McCain is a terrible United States senator. He is doing horrible damage to this country by preventing his colleagues from solving serious problems that are hurting people every day.

It’s too bad Arizona Republicans weren’t able to offer a more serious primary opponent last time than talk radio blowhard J.D. Hayworth, or McCain might have been put out to pasture before he could hurt the United States of America the way he did last night.

John McCain does not serve the American people. John McCain serves the Beltway establishment. He will never change. And no matter what he went through in Vietnam, and no matter how sick he is today, there is no point pretending that’s not true.

That was the ultimate WWE move, senate style.

When the bad guy enters the ring, just turn on his friends. The announcer yelling "Whose side is he on?? Whose side is he on???"

If he wanted to vote against it, he could have just stayed home

Trump is paying for all the people he insulted during the campaign.

McCain has been waiting to take his revenge for the "I like guys who didn't get captured" line.

He got his revenge, in spades.

When I read the title of this thread the first thing that came to mind was how can you possibly
use brilliance and John McCain in the same sentence?

Mia culpa.

Dumb, incredibly egotistical, vindictive and selfish.

The irony: Juan McCain using the very top shelf of EliteCare with the best world class medical treatment by the best brain surgeons at the Mayo Clinic skips his brain cancer surgery just so he could go back to Washington in record time to keep shafting the American people with shitty disastrous Obamacare.

What a "Maverick" this asshole is - American hero of every idiot on the left.

Trump: I don't like guys who get cancer. :bigfinger

I'm happy you view it as some big victory to hold the entire nation hostage just to get in a jab at Trump.

I don't think many voters will be as thrilled about it as you.

The TRUTH About John Mccain’s Shameful Legacy is GOING VIRAL!

GOING VIRAL! BY TRUTHFEEDNEWS JULY 29, 2017

POSTED BY Patty Voegtlin

Okay, people…before John McCain dies and the ridiculous “tributes” to the man make me vomit, let’s remember what McCain’s real legacy is: His father was the Admiral in charge of the Pacific fleet prosecuting the war in Vietnam Nam.

Because of this McCain got preferential treatment in the Navy. He was allowed to become a Navy pilot. But he was a terrible pilot.

McCain crashed two navy Jets in his early career. Then while aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Forrestal, McCain got angry because he had to wait in line to take off on a bombing run.

He shut off his engines, opened the cockpit, and in his haste to exit the aircraft to chew someone out about his having to ” wait”, he hit the button that released his live bombs onto the deck of the Forrestal.

He took off running, as the bombs exploded, which set off a chain reaction of bombs from adjacent aircraft, and the ensuing explosions and fires killed 133 sailors aboard the Forrestal.

While his fellow sailors were fighting the fire, McCain went to the pilot’s lounge below decks and watched the men fight the fire on closed circuit TV.

Hours later, McCain took off with a New York Times reporter buddy of his, and went on to say that after seeing the effects of those bombs on the Forrestal, he was beginning to question the morality of dropping those bombs on the Viet Cong.

McCain was the direct cause of 133 deaths on his own ship, and was never reprimanded. He was nowhere to be found as the Forrestal had to limp to the Philippines for months of repair work.

McCain was married then. His wife was stricken with debilitating injuries in an automobile accident. And was hospitalized for more than 5 months. McCain was off gallivanting with anything in a skirt.

Upon returning from Vietnam Nam, McCain found his wife was disfigured by her injuries, which included a shattered pelvis, arm, and legs. In order to save her legs, doctors performed 23 surgeries on her, and had to remove significant portions of the bones in her legs, which left he shorter, and unable to walk, and in a wheelchair, she had to use a catheter.

McCain was disinterested in his first wife’s predicament. She had to go through grueling physical therapy to learn to walk again.

After McCain left the Navy, he was intent on a career in politics. He and His wife Carol had gotten to know Ronald and Nancy Reagan, and McCain was eager to jump into politics.

But he decided he needed a more visually pleasing young woman by his side. He callously divorced Carol, the mother of his three children, and immediately jumped into the sack with new wife Cindy, who was 18 years younger.

Upon learning of this, the Reagans were shocked and angered by how he had treated Carol.

While campaigning for congress, McCain used pictures of himself posing with Mr. And Mrs. Reagan, but there was no hearty endorsement offered by the Reagans.

McCain’s new young wife was also an heiress to an Arizona Brewing fortune.

And let us not forget McCain was one of the Keating 5, who had helped swindle life savings from countless Americans in the Savings and Loan scandal of the 1980’s. McCain was in it up to his eyeballs.

Yet McCain was well-connected in Washington, and parlayed his connections into a seat in the United States Senate.

So before the tearful tributes to John McCain, be sure you remember the facts about this self-proclaimed Maverick. The facts do not agree with that portrait of a heroic patriot and great American.

With due respect to his family, John McCain was never the great man so many portray him as.

I do not wish the man any harm or ill-will. But neither should we allow this false narrative fairy-tale about this scoundrel of a man as he faces his eternal fate.

You could've put up the mythical "Generic Republican" and the Bambino still would have cruised.

People were angry at Repubs then. ( same as at the end of the Trump years)

Honestly, I think we should begin to question his competence to serve in the U.S Senate.

I don't see where I injected my opinion into that post. I only see me making an observation.
