I rarely post here anymore but I wanted to give others a heads up if they are thinking about Fairlay.

Yesterday, I put in a cashout request. I provided the wallet address, had it confirmed via email on file, and made the request.

It has been close to 20 hours now - no that's not a typo - and nothing in my wallet. The Fairlay account does show the funds have been deducted.

I have emailed Fairlay support several times and always get the canned resonse "We'll get back to you as soon as possible."

I even tried to contact them via the forum but for some interesting reason, my post is not showing up on the thread. For anyone interested, the link for the forum is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=673475

Now Fairlay touts how their lines are better than average and that is true in my experience. However, what good is it when there are cashout issues? That's what really matters.

Maybe they are holding ALL funds until this bitcoin fork settles down. But there are others across the street who, like me, are also having problems making withdraws from Fairlay.

So do yourself a favor and stick to the established offshore books.

At this point, I'd be surprised if I see anything from my Fairlay.

Of course, if they decide to do the right thing, I will update this thread.

Glad to contribute, Heche Man.

Here is the latest update.

Fairlay sent me an email about 15 minutes ago stating the following:

"Hi,

automatic withdrawals are halted. If there is still an issue, please contact us again.

Best,

Team Fairlay"

I realize other books such as 5Dimes are also putting a freeze on bitcoin exchanges until the fork is over. We shall see.

Now there is a poster across the street who claimed his Fairlay payout yesterday was quick. I don't think he's a shill for Fairlay based on his posting history (but you never know).

Maybe his withdraw was smaller than mine. Regardless, if he is telling the truth, the discrepancy of one member getting paid and other members (such as myself and others) not getting paid is discouraging.

I will update this thread in the next few days.

Update.

The funds deposited into my wallet.

Now, I suppose I should be satisfied with that and move on.

However, across the street in the Bit Coin subforum, there's a thread titled Fairlay Withdraws. The op of that thread also appears to have resolved his issue with Fairlay.

What concerns me is that there are posters in that thread who claimed to have received their payout BEFORE the fork. These posters claimed to have put in their request on the 29th or even the 30th. I had put in my request on the 29th.

So if they are telling the truth, why is it that they had little problems...? Did they have small withdraws? Mine was less than 1 BTC.

This lack of consistency is what makes me feel uneasy about Fairlay.

Moving forward, I'm going to just have a small percentage of my bankroll there and make regular withdraws.

The way I see it, ALL offshores can, on any given day, decide to shut their doors and leave customers with unpaid settlements (obviously, there's a smaller probability the more established books won't do this).

While I like Fairlay's lines, I cannot give them a hearty thumbs up at this time. Anyone thinking about making a deposit with them should do so with caution - and I really don't think you should put all or most of your bankroll with them.

Hope some people found this helpful.
