If A. Rodgers protested the National Anthem and GB cut him, would he have an NFL QB job?

He'd be signed that same day by a team of his choosing no?

Tell me I'm not crazy here.

Moot point because obviously GB would never cut him in the first place. But obviously he would find work.

Great player + PR headache = "we'll deal with it"
Mediocre player + PR headache = pass

GB would scrap the anthem before the game and play a song of Aaron Rodgers choice.

Well kap would be on a team if he did not do what he did but he does not have enough talent equity to overcome his stance . The more talent you have the more you can get away with .

Rodgers has enough talent to where he could murder someone and be starting on Sunday .

Kap not so much .

so yes what he did cost him a job but Rodgers could do the same thing and still have one .

And this statement is exactly how I feel too.

This is the wrong analogy anyway, because people who believe in some conspiracy to keep CK off the field believe it is racially motivated.

So using Rodgers in your analogy doesn't work.

You would have to use Russel Wilson or Antonio Brown or something.

In which case your point still stands.

I read a Great article earlier in the night, and the point was made that 90% of the Viewership of NFL games were flag loving americans...
So the point wasent really about his benching being a Black thing.. again.. it's about a Viewership thing...

Look at ESPN AND HOW SMART THEY ARE.....

God Bless America..

The thing about Rodgers is that he is pissed at not being able to claim that he is the first openly, proud, gay, QB in the league.

He knows he will always be second fiddle to the G.O.A.T.

I don't believe most believe this situation is racially motivated. They view it as a man that protested our greatest U.S. symbol and the NFL and fans want to stifle his right to protest the flag.

If I were his owner, I'd just want him to play football so my team wouldn't have to deal with the mess that comes with these protests.

I will not be renewing the NFL ticket this year after 20 years. I am no longer a Dolphins fans because their owner came out in favor o the overpaid oppressed players. I am not the only one that feels this way. I will not support a league whose players don't respect the flag. I don't care how much I like watching football.

I serve Americans on active duty I know don't support our flag. Happy to do so because it's their right as Americans. You're looking at it the wrong way.

Seems like most whites don't believe the situation is racially motivated. A lot of black talking heads do.

My point is, anyone who disagrees with you is likely calling racism. You started this thread to refute that stance. So using Aaron Rodgers in your hypothetical doesn't really disprove their point as you are intending.

The questions you should be seeking to answer are:

If a similarly-talented white player (eg Ryan Fitzpatrick) did the same, would the backlash be the same?
If a better than average black player (eg Antonio Brown) did the same, would he be able to overcome the backlash and keep a job?

I think the answer to both these questions is yes. THAT refutes the racism claim.

For someone who loves to argue you're not very good at it.

nobody has ever argued that a large part of the reason Kap isn't getting a contract is because he is not very good. Comparing him to the best QB (or one of the top few) is silly. Compare him to Kellen Clemens or Landry Jones or Brian Hoyer and you're onto something

or ask the question .... if Cam Newton was doing this would he still be in the NFL? answer is YES
