Explain why Range Rovers are cool

I think they are ugly ass vehicles and my mechanic said that they are absolute pieces of shit. Yet they cost 60k and have the status symbol of BMW back in the 80's. I'd rather have a Buick Enclave or a Chevy Equinox or a Lincoln MKX.

Is this just like a fashion clothes thing? Because it's expensive, it's now cool?

I agree there's only one year that I thought looked okay, and then they went back to being ugly. I've heard they are good off road though. One of my marine buddies has one, and that's why he likes it.

Just looked and they are 85K vs high 30's for the others. 56k for a BMW X5 and 49K for an Audi Q7.

I don't get it at all.

think they are pretty cheap in the middle east. my fam had one when the lived in saudi...but it was going to cost more to ship it over to the US than it was worth when they came back

Start adding options to all these listed and watch the price go up more than you could buy a second vehicle to boot. Pick you out the nice $30kish and keep the rest in your pocket.

Having said that, a buddy of mine had a 2001 Range Rover and for ugly boxy as it was it felt like a party vehicle inside. Ugly boxy thing though..

for the money , the worst build suv there is.i had a friend that had a new one and it stayed in the shop all the time.he finally a few months ago traded it in a for a benz 350 truck.stay away from this truck at all.the range rover is junk with a high price tage

My local VW/Audi mechanic who once worked on Seinfeld's Porsche, said they are junk too. Nice interior, but that is it.

People are stupid, and the ones with more $ are more stupid in those certain choices

I thought I wanted one, the newer ones are more attractive and they do have a great ride.

Then I started reading ratings, from Consumer Reports to Owners' Satisfaction to reliability and I learned they are at the very bottom of every list, so I'm staying away and I would suggest everyone do their own research.

Poor reliability is an understatement, very expensive when it does break down on you, if you have money to burn - buy Range Rover

Porsche's don't rate out so bad, they're decent and way better tan Range Rovers

Audi's generally rank at or near the top across the boards, with most other popular luxury brand imports all fairing well, certainly above average. Mercedes, BMW, Acura, Lexus, Infinity all rate well.

I didn't mean that against Porsche, it was against the Rover. It was cool that my mechanic worked on his Porsche at one time
