The Florida Gators have suspended more than a half-dozen players following misuse of player credit cards and " school funds."
Defensive end Jordan Smith, along with six of his teammates have been suspended by the team following their misuse of school issued cards and an investigation by the university.

The players used the cards to buy electronic equipment, flip the equipment for cash, then reported the cards stolen. The school investigated the incident and found evidence of credit card fraud. The players have been suspended indefinitely by the university.
Smith was investigated in a separate incident in which he paid rent for his apartment with a credit card registered to somebody else. Smith has not been charged in the incident, but the school has included it as part of their investigation.
Updates will follow on the length of the suspensions and the long term effects on the players' eligibility for this season and beyond.
