Has anyone ever done "Third Round Reversal" for fantasy football drafting?

The league im doing this year is using it. Supposedly it creates the most balanced teams possible.

it looks like this....

Round 1: 1-14

Round 2: 14-1

Round 3: 14-1

Round 4: 1-14

It continues in serpentine fashion after that
Round 1: 1-14Round 2: 14-1
Round 3: 14-1
Round 4: 1-14
Round 5: 14-1
Round 6: 1-14
Round 7: 14-1
Round 8: 1-14
Round 9: 14-1
Round 10: 1-14

This league also lets you rank your draft order preference. So my question is this...

Would this format automatically make drafting at the end of round one the best spot?

I would say yes, for example if you pick 1st you would get 1,28,42. if you pick last you would get 14,15,29

It varies by year but in a 14 team league if you just went serpentine it is a big edge for the top 3-5 picks. You get the best players but then also 2 more top 25-28ish players (top 15 WRs/top 10 RBs which is usually where tiers drop off)

So yeah I tend to agree that it likely does even the playing field. I would say that is accurate Cruise.

I'd still want a top 2 pick though if I had to choose. The RB scarcity in a 14 team league is crazy. And the zero-RB strategy is a little harder to employ because the waiver wire is so barren.

The league I'm in is actually a 12 team. My bad

The first two weeks are all play weeks, where you just play against the league average score. Weeks from 3-13 are head to head. No trades allowed. Blind bidding for free agents

Top 4 teams make playoffs. The best head to head team and the three highest scoring teams. Then the playoffs is more about points scored instead of head to head matchup.

It's a PPR league. Only thing that's different in the scoring then most ppr leagues I've played is 6 pts for passing td instead of 4. Whole idea of the rules is to take as much luck out of it as possible.

It's a $500 entry. They pay top three finishers. Also the guy who finished with best record in regular season and the team who finished with the most points in the regular season get their entry fee back

I'm playing in two of them. You have to submit draft order preference. I was feeling good about where I wanted to draft until I found out about the third round reversal. Now I'm not sure. May try to draft towards the back in one and in the middle or beginning in the other.

My only real complaint about it is they only allow 60 seconds per pick in the draft.

Probably try to get 1 top 2 pick team. A team built around Bell/DJ.

And then another team picking like 8-12 range.

If you get 2 teams with the same picks you might have a lot of overlap in players which is kinda lame.

They also have entry into the rotoworld fantasy football championship. Top two finishers of each league go on to a championship round where you can win up to $100,000

now that i read all your posts thats exactly what you're talking about. I've been playing there since 2013, its one of the leagues i enjoy plus once people feel like they lost they give up and it makes it a lot easier

im thinking about doing one of the big prize league and one more traditional sattelite league.

you have to be top two in the big prize one so i can see it being terrible if you know youre out by week 4.
