What I dont understand is if the moon is blocking the sun why would it be dangerous to look at? I'm not gonna look at it but I don't understand how it is dangerous

when it blocks it completely, its probably ok.

However its a gradual process taking several hours.

Even then its not gonna be a total eclipse, i believe. Save for a small stretch in the country.

I think I heard, in most places it will be like 70 percent blocked.

So if people wanting to watch the whole process like a movie, better cover their eyes

Btw my sunglasses idea might be dangerous and stupid. Apparently not even the welders mask (or whatever its called) is protective enough
