Overrated & Underrated

Comparing the pre-season AP poll against your power ratings which teams do you have looking overrated & underrated?


For me West Va, South Fla, and Kansas St appear to be overrated. On the other hand Notre Dame, TCU, and Auburn appear to be somewhat underrated

Just so Im clear , a guy who lost to Kansas is expected to do big things?

Agree for the most part. Most overrated: 1 West Virginia, 2 South Florida & 3 Utah (would be 27th by votes). Underrated: 1 Texas A&M, 2 Notre Dame & 3 TCU.

South Florida should be favored in at least 11 games and with their conference easily,so being overrated might be going a bit far

Hey keyman - congrats on being the only person to finish in the top 4 of the CFB contest 3 different times. No one else has managed to accomplish that even more than once in the 4 years of the contest! Will be paying close attention to your picks/comments/reasoning. Agree with you that South Florida should be favored in at least 11 games, and probably all 12 since they get their only decent opponent (Houston) at home. They are 19th and 21st in the polls and 25th in the current 'college football composite rankings' on the Massey site. I have them at #45 in my personal rankings which is a disparity of 20 to 25 places - that is why in my opinion they are "overrated". Because of a weak schedule, and if they get past Houston, they should go 12-0, win their conference and finish in the top 10 by the end of the season. I don't think that will actually make them a true top 10 team in terms of comparative on-field performance against quality opponents.

I will definitely cash a nice money line bet against them when they're laying double digits. They never get to Houston undefeated
