No one was happier with Floyd Mayweather's win over Conor McGregor than Las Vegas sportsbooks.

After sweating out some early rounds that were closer than expected, Las Vegas sportsbooks got the result they wanted when Floyd Mayweather took out Conor McGregor by TKO in the tenth round.
While sportsbooks specialize in minimizing risk, heavy action from the public on the Irish underdog left Las Vegas in the undesirable position of cheering for a result in the fight.
Despite multiple million dollar bets coming in on Mayweather, sportsbooks across the city stood to lose close to $50 million or more in potential winnings if McGregor was able to pull off the unlikely upset.
But as the saying goes, the house always wins, and with both a huge handle and their desired results, it's quite possible that Saturday was the most profitable fight for the sportsbooks in Las Vegas history when all is said and done.
"After the dust settled, we finished on the positive side. If it went 25 seconds longer, would have been a little better, but we've very satisfied with the result," said Jay Kornegay, VP of Race and Sports Operations at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, according to a report from ESPN's David Purdum.
Kornegay added that it was "Most likely" the most profitable fight ever for Westgate in a comment to Business Insider.
We won't know the final numbers until all the tickets are counted, but it's safe to say that the books got the result they wanted out of a night that was riskier than expected.

Judges were paid by casinos to rule in favor of Mayweather. I looked at live scoring at many sites. Everyone had McGregor winning rounds 2 and 3. Two judges somehow scored it Mayweather.

Lookin
g at Compubox stats, there's no way that 2 of the first 3 rounds should have gone to Mayweather

So even in the event that it was a more competitive fight and went to decision, we still would've won?

Wow that bet was even more free money than I thought.

Mayweather vs. McGregor - CompuBox Punch Stats.

T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas - Floyd Mayweather outlanded Conor McGregor 130-60 in rounds six through ten after McGregor had a 51-40 edge in landed punches in first five rounds.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. figured out a 50th opponent, letting Conor McGregor have the early rounds before stalking him late and leaving the mixed martial artist defenseless and exhausted on the ropes.
Mayweather battered McGregor around the ring in the later rounds, finally stopping him at 1:05 of the 10th round Saturday night with a flurry of punches that forced referee Robert Byrd to stop the fight.
Before a pro-McGregor crowd that roared every time the UFC star landed a punch, Mayweather methodically broke him down after a slow start to score his first real stoppage in nearly a decade. He did it in what he said would be his final fight, against a fighter who had never been in a professional boxing match.
McGregor boxed surprisingly well early. But after landing some shots in the first three rounds, his punches seemed to lose their steam, and Mayweather went on the pursuit. McGregor backpedaled most of the way, stopping only to throw an occasional flurry as Mayweather wore him down.
McGregor had vowed to knock Mayweather out within two rounds, and he won the early rounds with movement and punches to the head. But the tide of the fight turned in the fourth round as Mayweather seemed to figure out what he had to do and began aggressively stalking McGregor.
Mayweather was widely criticized for not going after Pacquiao in their megafight, and he didn't make the same mistake this time. In a fight that could make him $200 million he seemed to stagger McGregor with a series of punches in the ninth round, then came back in the 10th eager to finish it off.
McGregor went over and hugged Mayweather. He seemed almost happy in the ring afterward, secure that he had given a good performance even in losing.
Mayweather ran his record to 50-0, surpassing Rocky Marciano's 49-0 record and giving himself a great parting gift. He repeated afterward that he was not going to fight again.

Look at the punches round by round. Mayweather landed 5 punches in round 2. Same with round 3.

Giving a fighter a 10-8 without a knock down in the round is fucking stupid.

The only thing that was more of a guarantee than Mayweather winning that fight, was that the whiners would be all over the internet after it (can't recall one of his fights where there weren't a bunch of whiners afterwards). Apparently, they think boxing is about standing toe-to-toe in the middle of the ring and taking it like a man...ROTFLMAO! From where I see it, Mayweather has a sizable bank account and won't be leaving the sports riddle with injuries to his body and brain. Sounds pretty smart to me.

Amazing that they can give a round to someone that not only doesn't win it but doesn't even try to win it. This is one reason why UFC is destroying boxing; you don't see this shit in UFC.

Yep McGregor won those first 3 rounds without a doubt.

Someone on Twitter said Floyd didn't best Conor.... Cardio beat Conor.

It's hard to say they are wrong...

And who's fault is that? Guess he should have trained harder then.
